Not So Perfect

My prayers were answered! This morning at 6 my eyes just FLEW open and I had the strongest urge to exercise!!!! How often does that happen?! Seriously. I didn’t fight it though! I had a Pure Delight bar for a pre-workout snackie in the room:

When I got to the gym around 6:15, MizFit was already there, wheeling away on the bike. I asked her if she slept on the mat on the floor last night. Haha πŸ™‚ The gym was actually WAY nicer than I expected with all brand new equipment and tons of weight machines. Here’s what I did:

10 minutes on elliptical to get my body awake!

2 sets of pushups, 12 reps each set

2 sets of triceps kickbacks, 10 lbs, 10 reps

2 sets of triceps pulldowns, 50 lbs, 12 reps (I did both these two tricep exercises together as a superset)

2 sets of hammer curls, 10 lbs, 15 reps each set

2 sets of upward press, 50 lbs 1st set and 35 lbs 2nd set, 15 reps

2 sets of incline chest press, 35 lbs, 15 reps

2 sets of crunches on stability ball, 20 reps

2 sets of one sided bicycle crunches on stability ball, 2 sets each set, 15 reps each

I stayed until 6:50 and I have to admit, it was a pretty darn good workout. I felt great after!

After working out, I piled on my sweatshirt and coat and scarf and walked down a couple blocks to Starbucks to grab something to eat. I know we have our reader meet-up “brunch” at 10:00, but there was NO WAY I could wait until 10 to eat something….you know me! I got their “perfect oatmeal” with a Justin’s Almond Butter packet (!!!), a banana and a black coffee.

It was good………but I’m stillΒ  STARVING!!!!!Β  I totally did not realize that the “perfect oatmeal” was only one instant oatmeal packet. I tried to beef it up with the almond butter and the banana but I know I am going to be on the prowl for a protein packed snack here in a little bit. I wish I had a greek yogurt! πŸ™

Anyways, I’m about to shower, get dressed and packed and head over to Panera to meet more amazing readers! I will probably be blogging from the airport later so stay tuned!

    So sorry that the “Perfect Oatmeal” wasn’t so perfect – they shouldn’t have named it that, since that created too-high of expectations, haha. Oh well.

    i didn’t know starbucks offered almond butter!!? i know how you feel when you want a specific snack that you know will hold you over…so frustrating but panera sounds delish for brunch!! enjoy.

    Has anyone tried the Starbuck’s “Protein Power Plate” yet? I really liked it, I had one last week. It was full of a bunch of little things (egg, cheese, apple slices, peanut butter, small whole wheat bagel, grapes) and it kept me full for hours! Jenna, you should try that one next time you need “fuel” at Starbucks! I will see you at Panera this morning πŸ™‚

    That is awesome that Starbucks offers almond butter! I’mnot sure if ours here in Toronto does.

    Sorry to hear about your insubstantial breakfast… it’s always better at home, eh! I’ve seen that Starbucks offering but in general I don’t trust that company to offer something healthy.

    Was yours instant? At the Starbucks I got it at they had a big vat of it pre-prepared.

    Good for you for working out! I woke up at 8 with the intention of working out, and said, screw it, I’ll do it later! haha!
    I can’t wait to see photos from the brunch. It looks like this trip to Chicago has been non stop fun!

    Jenna did you get that pb at starbuck’s? When I travel for work, I always get the starbuck’s oatmeal at the airport but they never offer pb!! Maybe I should order of of those Barney PB packets to take with me. Have a safe flight back, so great chatting with you Friday night!

    Hmmm, that stinks. Give it another try sometime, because the times I”ve had it it’s been good!
