Behind The Butter

november at a glance

Can you believe it’s the last day of November?

Neither can I.

This month flew by and was full of friends, food, butter and wine…with a little flour sprinkled on top for good measure.

We kicked off the month in San Francisco for the second annual Foodbuzz conference. I cuddled with Tina and Anne in a tiny (haunted) hotel room and ate lots of carbohydrates.

It was amazing.

Back in Sonoma, I chaturangad with Kath…

And then baked delicious pumpkin scones to refuel. Also, I drank some wine and filmed a macaroon video.

And then we made a remix…it was crazy and involved a garage green screen, a pound of sugar and my sweet dance moves.

Don’t be jealous.

Things calmed down a little bit after that. I made some soup and a quiche that leaked all over my oven…it was sorta a disaster but ended up tasting pretty darn good.

I also made curry, caramel sauce and a rather grumpy ginger cake, which also ended up tasting quite nice.

Then, my boyfriend went out of town for a week and I made steak.

That seems odd, even to me.

When he finally came home, we reunited over a chili cook-off.

I don’t want to talk about it.

I will say, however, that I’ve eaten five bowls of chili in the past week. Take that however you want.

Finally, I threw my heart, soul and butter into baking the perfect pumpkin baked good.

Voting is going on now!

If buttercream is wrong, I never want to be right.

Bring on December!

I have a list of new Christmas cookies I want to try out, including Maria’s pomegranate white chocolate chunk cookies, Jessica’s hot cocoa cookies, Mama Pea’s dough balls, and Adrianna’s gingerbread biscotti.

I also need to fix my Kitchen Aid, which seems to have the flu.

Until next time, friends!

It’s time for more chili.

I vote you guys make another video in December. He’s got some sweet editing skills. Also, you are very lucky that chili freezes, because one can only consume so much chili, even in the name of love. :p

If my kitchen aid got sick, I think I’d cry. Then go buy a new one, just to have as back up. Kitchen items come first!

I can’t believe this year went so fast.
