Hi guys!
Thanks for all the happy thoughts earlier. Nothing to disclose yet, but hopefully soon! 😉
I hope everyone had a fantastic Tuesday. I spent it in my office….

What? Your office desk isn’t surrounded by cookbooks and doesn’t have tweetdeck and a glass of Murphy-Goode Chardonnay on it?! Crazy 😛
In all seriousness, I did work hard this afternoon, delving deep into the realm of social media and only coming up for…ice cream?

Oh my gosh, if anything was totally necessary it was this beauty right here. I could have walked or biked the, err, few blocks to the yogurt shop but instead I was lazy (its HOT outside!) and drove. This is a small plain yogurt (the tangy kind) with chocolate chips, mango and raspberries. Divine.
I continued to work for a few more hours, stopping briefly to take a 10 minute dance break in my living room (normal?) with Dexter. I feel for people that sit in cubicles all day…I really do. I don’t know how you do it. After awhile my back gets stiff and my legs fall asleep. It was either the 20 minute Shred or……break dancing…so I cranked up my Itunes and went to town. I think the maintenance men outside got a show.
Dinner was super simple. A glass of my Murphy-Goode Chard + frozen channa masala, whole wheat pita and grape tomatoes

I was on the phone for most of dinner but still managed to enjoy it AND dessert!

Aren’t these cookies pretty? For those of you that asked where I buy them, the answer is my local grocery store. You definitely don’t have to travel to France to find little schoolboy cookies. Most of the time they are right in your local cookie aisle—I recently got two boxes for $5!
Working on a special project tonight (to be disclosed later!) and then reading myself to sleep.
See you in the morning!

July 28, 2009 at 8:45 pmUgh, I wish my desk had a glass of wine on it right now! Instead, it has a clock, telling me I’ve been here for 11 hours. BOO!
Can’t wait to hear about all the surprises! 🙂

July 28, 2009 at 8:48 pmI love your office! Being surrounded by books always cheers me and inspires me.
Thanks for the chocolate cookie tip-off. I will be in pursuit of them on my next visit home.

July 28, 2009 at 8:52 pmyour office space is way too cute to be an office space. and i feel for cubicle workers too! i get a back ache just sitting on the couch while i catch up on blogs! i actually DO consider dance breaks to be normal. but this is coming from the girl who occasionally hops like a frog from room to room to exert built up energy, and will break out into a 10 second spastic dance in the bathroom. you’re not weird at all in my mind, hah! 🙂

July 28, 2009 at 8:57 pmI hate cublicles/work desks with a passion. I’m convinced I’ll find work that will allow me to wiggle around all day! No one believes me 🙂 So jealous of your office space!

July 28, 2009 at 9:14 pmIf you don’t know what to post some day, I’d love to know what’s in your cookbook library! I recognize some, but certainly not all!
Maria
July 28, 2009 at 9:15 pmHehehe, love that way you are spending your work day. I would love to have a non-cubicle job surrounded by cookbooks, froyo, and dancing 😉

July 28, 2009 at 9:17 pmWhat a pretty office! I love the natural light in the room!
Yummy ice cream! And good luck on the project tonight.

July 28, 2009 at 9:37 pmWe just moved to a new apartment down the street from a yoghurt place. How weird – your order is pretty much the same as I usually get (except instead of mango I add coconut – though the mango obviously had more nutiritonal value!). They weigh it all out so you know what you’re getting. I thought about trying to give up the chocolate chips, but natural yogurt tastes kind of sour to me, so the chips help sweeten the deal 🙂 Hope you get some good news soon!

July 28, 2009 at 9:40 pmThat froyo looks killer…

July 28, 2009 at 9:45 pmOh that’s got to be awesome to work from home (speaking from someone who works in a cube)! I like to take laps around the office and distract people as I power-walk by them…

July 28, 2009 at 9:49 pmYeah – I will definitely trade you offices any day 🙂 That frozen yogurt looks divine! 🙂

July 28, 2009 at 10:35 pmI so wish I had your office 🙂
Cynthia (It all changes)
July 28, 2009 at 10:35 pmI wish my office was that decluttered. I have piles of papers to do on one side, a stack of mail to be sent out and a filing system on the other side. I have to keep moving stuff around to find what I want when I need it.

July 28, 2009 at 10:38 pmI could never do the cubicle thing. Ahhhh! It would drive me nutso. I so appreciate being able to do my work from home. Sure, it has its own challenges, but overall I am way, way more productive. I am able to relax more and it’s so less stressful. My work has improved by leaps and bounds since I did the at home thing.
That said – breaks are a necessity no matter where you’re at. Being home allows more freedom though and some bigger activity. Hmmm . . . jumping jacks anybody? Or how about lunges past the couch, down the hall and into the kitchen? My cat must think I am bonkers!! Hey, a girl needs to get out from behind the desk and stretch her legs!! HA!!

July 28, 2009 at 10:40 pmLove the afternoon froyo break! I buy the same cookies at Cost Plus and they are almost always on sale, so that’s another option! Good luck with your secret prospects!!

July 28, 2009 at 10:46 pmMy “office” is currently a porch table outside and a homemade margarita (thank you vita mix) on the table. There is no shelf of cookbooks, but if I turn around there are several deer, including a few fawns eyeing my vegetable garden.

July 28, 2009 at 11:04 pmLOVE your office. Glad you had such a great (and albeit, DELICIOUS!) afternoon!!!
I’ll keep my fingers crossed about this mystery phone call =)

July 28, 2009 at 11:45 pmI love to make gourmet s’mores with those cookies. I’m bringing them “glamping” this weekend!

July 29, 2009 at 12:47 amI actually work in what I like to call “cubicle country”. I am lucky though. I usually have to walk to other coworkers’ desks, the copier/printer and to the first floor of our building quite often. But, yes, my foot or leg falls asleep at some point during every day!

July 29, 2009 at 12:55 amYour pictures are looking gorgeous Jenna! And that dinner and the yogurt look incredible. Mmmm, chocolate and fruit toppings are my favorite.

July 29, 2009 at 6:44 amOooh, I’m going to look for those cookies! Considering my office shifts start at 5am, I definitely don’t have a glass of wine! Usually a big ole mug of coffee 🙂

July 29, 2009 at 7:14 amYum, I love tart plain frozen yogurt, in fact, I have an awesome recipe for it on my blog!
Cait (Cait's Plate)
July 29, 2009 at 7:58 amHAH! I love the dancing break idea – that’s perfect.
I have to say, being a cubicle dweller I’m incredibly jealous of your work environment vs mine! Although I do have weight and a yoga ball in my cube and often break out in spontaneous bouts of 80’s aerobic exercise when I’m feeling tired, so maybe we’re even?? Haha
Cait (Cait's Plate)
July 29, 2009 at 7:59 amPS – EVERYTIME you talk about Dexter I think you’re talking about the show “Dexter” for the first few seconds! I love that name!

July 29, 2009 at 8:19 amJenna, I have a wine question for you…. do you store your opened wine in or out of the fridge??? I have a rubber stopper thingy (very technical term) that I use for opened bottles, but it seems that if i put the wine in the fridge, it tastes “vinegary” (???).
Need your EXPERT INPUT :0)

July 29, 2009 at 8:21 amHi Jenna,
I’m a book editor who works on the Eat-Clean Diet series – I noticed you had both The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook and The Eat-Clean Diet for Family & Kids on your bookshelf. What do you think of them? Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks,
Cali

July 29, 2009 at 12:52 pmI can totally picture you bustin’ a move in the middle of the “workday”! I love it! And truth be told, I do it too. Usually my crazy kids join in the fun and the soundtrack as of late is Boom Boom Pow!
Hope your news is good!
And YUM! Le Petit Ecoliers are super delish!
Have a great day!
