Hi guys!
Thank you all so much for the wonderful ideas! I actually went with an article on how I personally grocery shop on a budget. What my main staples are…where I go….what my thoughts are. Check it out! I loved everyone’s ideas though and now I totally have writing subjects for the next…year? I’m already thinking of tomorrow!
I got my 2 mile run in this morning and then have just been online ever since, catching up on the exciting world of social media. For lunch I was going to meet my mom but something came up and I ended up having lunch here. I made a very messy, yet very delicious, chicken pita!

Basically, I just stuffed rotisserie chicken into a whole wheat pita with hummus, honey mustard, HOT SAUCE, lettuce and goat cheese! It was divine! 🙂

An applesauce for dessert! Eating applesauce always makes me feel like I’m in third grade but I love it anyways.
Say some prayers for me…I have an important phone call this evening!

I have such an addiction to Whole Foods 🙂

July 28, 2009 at 1:33 pmHey girl! I thought the article was great. Thats exactly how I food shop too! Costco about once a month and then food store for smaller shops each week. We def spend a good deal of money on food, but I think its still way cheaper and healthier than eating out! Glad you got your run in. Hope the rest of your day goes well- you will be in my thoughts!!

July 28, 2009 at 2:30 pmI am usually (relatively) organized, but our weeknight schedule constantly changes and so while I plan a menu for the week on Sunday, by Monday it’s all over the shop with last minute activities (which is great but most involve eating out or only one of us eating in which messes up aforementioned menu). I need to update my staples – you have a good list in that article!
Saying a prayer for your phone call tonight! Just be yourself 🙂

July 28, 2009 at 2:38 pmhaha the pita sure is messy! but it looks as if it tasted great anyway. i’m taking a pita with chicken and veggies to work tomorrow for lunch; i hope it won’t be as messy as yours when i eat it in the cafeteria with all my colleagues 😉

July 28, 2009 at 2:53 pmmmmm i love messy food! but for some reason, when its messy, i always eat faster .. i dont know why that happens! i like to eat slow and enjoy the food, and when stuff is falling out all over the place, i eat like someone is going to steal whatever i dont get in my mouth haha.
pitas are always pretty messy, the bread never holds together all too well!
good luck with you call tonight! im sure whatever it is you will do great
i hope everyone is having a great day so far!

July 28, 2009 at 7:17 pmGreat grocery shop post! I’m usually pretty good at budgeting my shops, but I was shocked when I found out how much my bf spends on a shop (twice as much as me) — and then that it only lasts him 2-3 days instead of a week! I’m going to pass your article onto him 🙂

July 28, 2009 at 8:03 pmGood luck Jenna! And you just reminded me I forgot to pick up a rotisserie chicken today while at Costco… 🙁 Well enjoy it for me!

July 28, 2009 at 8:08 pmThank you so much for the reply on the Master Cleanse. You’ll be glad to know that although I did try it, it only lasted for about 4 hours! haha I just couldn’t do it. I love food too much! Thanks again for your input. I won’t be trying any more starvation detox diets anytime soon.

July 28, 2009 at 8:39 pmGreat article! I think rotisserie chicken is great, but I only like the breast. Luckily Hubby is not nearly as fussy. I wish we had Costco here, buying in bulk is a great way to save cash! Hope the phone call goes well.

July 28, 2009 at 10:14 pmI like your article on grocery shopping. I follow basically the same thing. Produce always being more often. Dance parties to break up sitting too long are always fabulous!

July 29, 2009 at 3:43 pmI definitely feel the budget pain! My problem is fueling with proper nutrition for races and long distance runs, with enough calories (no pasta-spaghetti, penne, etc), and staying within a budget! I know Megan from The Runner’s Kitchen lives in the Manhattan area and it is so dang hard to locate the nutritious cheap stuff here. I’ve done a few comparisons and Whole Foods is the cheapest-who knew!!!!!
