Good evening!
I hope everyone had a good day! I actually got a lot done and was able to organize everything for Boston! My bed is covered right now with different lists and agendas…I’m so excited! I want to take a moment now to thank my sponsor, Nasoya, for their awesome contribution. I’m sure you all know, but Caitlin, Kath, Meghann, Heather, Tina and I dreamt up the Healthy Living Summit early last March and its been like our baby ever since….now she’s all grown up! 😉 Nasoya was incredibly gracious to us and covered some of our discretionary expenses and we are all thankful! Plus…their tofu rocks! 🙂
Midday I had the typical Oikos + raw granola snackie:

And as for dinner…..I sort of got off easy!!!! Anne’s family had a big dinner party last night and had mega leftovers so Anne brought me five HUGE crabcakes! I LOVE crabcakes so I knew dinner had to revolve around them.
On the side, however, I did produce next month’s Mushroom Channel recipe….polenta with wild mushroom gravy! However, recipe must remain a secret until it is aired on the website. I will tell you one thing though: it was good. And easy! I seriously just winged this off the top of my head and was thrilled it worked so well!

It tasted quite indulgent but really wasn’t all that heavy! That would be tartar sauce on my crabcake if you were wondering 🙂
I also picked up a bottle of one of my favorite wines, Murphy-Goode “The Fume”, to go with the meal. Everything worked perfectly!
I’m off to send a few emails and tie some things up. See you in the morning!

August 11, 2009 at 9:02 pmCrab cakes are one of my favorite foods in the world. Summer is the best time to eat seafood — it just seems fresher and more enjoyable. Love it! And I just love how the cat got in the tub earlier — that’s hilarious! You’re right, cats ARE supposed to hate the water! I used to be a pet groomer — I know! LOL

August 11, 2009 at 9:04 pmHaha I just read about Mikey…maybe he is taking after your brother with his love for the water?? I will say that is an odd characteristic for a cat, though! Have a GREAT night, I have a pint of mushrooms that I have to take care of in the next few days–it looks like I might have an answer now!

August 11, 2009 at 9:22 pmI have only had crab cakes twice and they were from a very fine dining establishment (work trip). Holy crap (or holy crab) were they delicious! I’m always hinky to try them at home, as I know they wouldn’t really compare. However, now you’ve got me thinking…

August 11, 2009 at 9:41 pmCrab is one of the few types of seafood that I really like. Eating crabcakes reminds me of summer vacations in Ocean City, Maryland with my fam 🙂
