Lunch

Sort of Bummed

I got back to Orlando a little while ago and now am just getting ready for work. I have to admit, I’m in a bit of a bummed out mood this afternoon because it was especially tough to leave Tampa today when Ryan is still there having such a fun time. The party we were at was amazing…in a huge house right on the water so we could sit out on the dock and watch the boats pass by.

I drank a virgin bloody mary and had a cuban sandwich (along with a couple tortilla chips with salsa) for lunch before I left. The bad news is that I’ve had a migraine (I get chronic migraines..no fun) all day long and even with medicine, its not going away. I know it will be another crazy saturday at work tonight so I’m really praying it will somehow go away in the next hour and a half before I have to be at work.

For a snack I just had some crackers and a laughing cow cheese….usually big sandwiches like that fill me up but today I wasn’t satisfied. It’s just been an off day, I suppose (does anyone else ever have these or am I the only one?!). On the way to the party this morning it took an HOUR to get there (its 1.5 miles away from the apartment) because of all the traffic. I chomped on an apple to kill the time.

I have been getting the greatest questions from you all lately…I LOVE reading and answering (and sort of getting to know you all in a way) them all. However, its just been getting so difficult for me to find time for everything..including myself lately. I’m toying with the idea of making the comment area more of a “forum” for you all to ask each other (and me if you specify) each other’s questions.

Most of you seem to be incredibly knowledgeable on the subjects of health and nutrition. It might be a cool idea for all the questions to be sort of “open-ended” in a way then whoever knows the answer–including myself—to pop in and write it. I’ve seen a ton of blogs function in this way and it seems to work very well. I, by NO MEANS, will stop answering your questions—but if others could help me out when they know the answer, or if I have already answered the same question previously, that would help me out greatly. If you do have a question just for me specifically then I would appreciate you to state that in the question, OR if you wanted to, you could also email me!

    Hi Jenna,

I don’t usually comment on blogs but you really do deserve a tremendous thank you. I am a teenager recovering from an eating disorder and I find your blog to be fantastic. I’m also a foodie, and nothing makes me happier than cooking healthy meals for myself (I also lived in France for a month and ate the most fantastic food I have ever had.)

You are such a healthy person, but you also seem to enjoy food without the guilt that many of us feel after indulging. Thanks for showing me how a healthy person eats (while still having fun!) and inspiring me to keep recovering.

    Thank you so very much.

P.S: I can’t make my Fage yogurt last longer than a day in my house either… I always end up stocking up on it twice a week and I still can’t get enough of it! 🙂

Feel better! As a dedicated reader I completely understand if you cannot spend as much time answering questions. I think the forum will be great.

    Jenna,

I totally understand—I don’t know how you do it everyday with so many questions and comments…the forum is a great idea because then the blog won’t ever take up too much time and you can always be really energetic about sharing your meals…not that you’re not anyways as is, but after awhile this must feel like a second job to you…..my favorite part is just seeing the delicious food you make and trying out your recipes!! Hope your migraine goes away I get them often as well…..excedrine migraine really helps me get through it!

Hi Emma , I am in the same boat as you.
I have been through the same sort of thing and Jenna’s blog is TRULY inspiring to see how “regular” people eat and act about food. I love food.. and it makes me feel more normal to know that other people do too! 🙂
Another great blog is “kath eats real food”.

Have a great Saturday everyone! 🙂

Sorry to hear you aren’t feeling your usual self, Jenna. And yes, I think your idea for the forum is wonderful. Anyone would be exhausted with your schedule and 24/7 responsiveness to us. This group in particular seems to me very nutrition-savvy, so I think we can self-moderate to some extent, with you chiming in at your convenience. Take good care!

Jenna, I think that is a great idea for doing a “forum” type of question/comment system. It is really interesting to hear so many different views on subjects too! Your blog is great, and I think you have a great way of keeping up with it and making it interesting!
