I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday! It feels like FALL here so I’m excited. When I say “it feels like fall” I mean it’s about 75 degrees out as opposed to 90. I think I’ll get a REAL taste of fall though when I go up to Chicago in a couple weeks!! eek!
This morning we lounged about a bit and I had a snack of a string cheese.
I should have known better than to eat just a bowl of cereal for breakie—-never keeps me full!
After my snack, Ryan and I headed upstairs to the condo gym for a strength workout. Here’s what I did:
a couple minutes on the elliptical to warm up
2 sets of triceps kickbacks—12 lbs, 15 reps
2 sets of stability ball push-ups—15 reps
2 sets of assisted chin-ups-–70 lbs assisted weight, 15 reps
2 sets of stability ball chest press with dumbbells—15 lbs, 15 reps
2 sets of seated row—50 lbs, 15 reps
2 sets of shoulder press with dumbbells—12 lbs, 15 reps
2 sets of seated hammer curls—12 lbs, 15 reps
2 sets of one sided bicycle crunches on stability ball—20 reps, 2 sets each side
2 sets of reverse crunches—20 reps
Total workout time = 35 minutes.
It was a pretty good workout actually. I didn’t really want to go, but we decided it would make us feel better and I know that I’ll probably indulge in good food & drinks this weekend! Tomorrow I’m planning a 5 mile run down Bayshore (next to the water—it’s gorgeous), so at least I’ll be getting in my exercise this weekend regardless!
For lunch, we picked up Pita Pit. I had a turkey whole wheat pita with honey mustard, hot sauce, jalepinos, banana peppers, red onion, spinach, mushrooms, black olives, pickles, avocado and feta cheese. Delish!
We are having some friends over to watch the game so I gotta run and shower real quick! We are headed over to my parent’s house so I will blog dinner and the “surprise” from there later on. 😉
Have a great day!

October 25, 2008 at 5:21 pmGreat workout plan 🙂 I typically like to do a lot of cardio (mostly running 5-9 miles).. However, I also incorporate a lot of medicine ball exercises…Question: Is a “stability ball” the same thing as a medicine ball, or is it one of those giant balls that you use to do crunches on?

October 25, 2008 at 6:48 pmWhat are you coming to Chicago for?! I live here, and it is COLD today – I ran in a drizzly and windy 40 degrees today. Make sure to email me about your trip – I’d love to hear about it and give you some suggestions for things to do!

Its definitely NOT a ring. Here’s a hint: I baked it. And, no, I did not bake my own ring. Sadly. Hahah 😉

October 25, 2008 at 7:22 pmJenna,
The stability ball is that huge ball that you sit on and do abs. A medicine ball is the smaller ball that ranges in weights.

October 25, 2008 at 8:38 pmAny hints as to when a ring may appear? No pressure though!
