Hey guys!
How’s your Sunday going? Bet you didn’t know today was Raisin Bran Day!
I actually like Raisin Bran, but I prefer it as a snack because just a bowl won’t keep me full for very long if I have it as my breakfast. So, instead, I had oats in a jar….again!
Deeeelicious! Used a half cup of oats, half cup of milk, half cup of water, banana and topped it with a dollop of raspberry jam for the whole ab&j deal. Why is almond butter so good…why, why?!
After breakfast, I laid in bed with my mom for over an hour and talked about life. I’m going to be so sad when it’s just me here again! I finally pulled myself together though and hit the gym. Hard. For some reason, I’ve just been feeling the need to totally kick my own butt at the gym lately. Maybe its the fact that all I do here is eat totally delicious food and drink wine..or maybe it’s the fact that my jeans are a wee bit tighter? 😉 Regardless, it was boot camp this morning….Jenna style.
30 minutes on the arc trainer, resistance cranked way up
3 sets of lunges on the bosu ball
3 sets of push-ups on bosu ball
2 sets of crunches on bosu ball (i love this thing, clearly.) I do side crunches and regular crunches on it and it really works your obliques
3 sets of squats (with 10 lb weight) on bosu ball
2 sets of 21s with 20 lb weight + shoulder raises
2 sets of triceps extensions with 10 lb weight
What what! Next up: GRASS!
Chocolate SuperFood + almond milk is delicious!
Not too long after, lunch!
A BIG salad from Shelton’s. Organic mixed greens, tomatoes, bell pepper strips, cucumber, an egg, kidney beans, topped with hummus & hot sauce with a piece of just baked sourdough walnut bread. The bread was AWESOME!!!
Currently sipping on grape soda aka divine grape Kombucha. Love this stuff.
About to head into town! Hardy is meeting us at Murphy-Goode and giving us a tasting and then we are headed over to Chalk Hill to visit Lancaster for a complete tour and tasting. Dinner is at The Estate tonight and I’m stoked. How amazing does that menu look??!

November 15, 2009 at 12:36 pmLove Raisin Bran! I was wondering what the Blue Diamond AB is like – looks delish! Must try this oats in a Jar. Are you still doing yoga? I feel like a ‘fraud’ in doing the training program…and yet not even having a daily practice…seriously most of the time it’s just ‘stretching’ sessions – and I suck. Blah, I’ll be posting about it anyways I’m sure. Any advice from fellow ‘yog-er’s appreciated 🙂

November 15, 2009 at 12:38 pmHey Jenna! I might be your youngest reader – but I’m a huge fan of your blog!! I check it everyday…lol, you’ve even got me hooked on oats and almond butter! 🙂 Just wanted to say thanks for blogging your food choices. You’re a huge inspiration, and you’ve inspired me to totally take charge of what I eat, butt-kicking workouts, etc.! If you are EVER down in the South, in Texas or Louisiana, please let me know – I’d love to meet you!
P.S. Even though I would have said “NO!” a year ago, I’m itching to try some chocolate Amazing Grass now! Just hope I can find it down here!

November 15, 2009 at 1:13 pmI love Raisin Bran, but I fully agree that alone…it isn’t enough to constitute a meal. Bet it works wonders in a yogurt mess, though!
Your lunch looks so delicious, and while the salad looks incredibly fresh and vibrant- I can’t get over that amazing sourdough bread!

November 15, 2009 at 1:17 pmOh my gooooodness, I can’t believe you’ve gone through so many jars of almond/peanut butter in the past couple of months to make oats in a jar, and I’ve yet to finish up ONE enough to try it. Looks so yummy!

November 15, 2009 at 1:53 pmhmmm, does eating cinnamon raisin swirl bread qualify for celebrating raisin bran day? no? didn’t think so. Ah well, I’ll remember for next year.

November 15, 2009 at 3:39 pmSounds like a busy and fun day! I also love using the bosu ball, I turn it upside-down so the bouncy part is on the floor and do squats on the flat surface of the underside of the ball with a 10 lb medicine ball. Totally works out your core and balance. I also like to rock the bosu ball left right then do a push up. Soo hard, but totally tones your arms

November 15, 2009 at 6:18 pmyour meals and workouts are so inspiring! i get great meal ideas from you all the time!
i can totally relate about missing mom when she leaves. when i lived in nyc and my mom would visit and stay with me for days at a time, id cry every time she left and the tiny little apt would feel lonely. my best advice- go out for a walk, go to the gym, meet up with friends and get out when she leaves so it makes it easier! 🙂

November 15, 2009 at 6:52 pmI love Raisin Bran – when I was little I liked plucking the sugared raisins out of my bowl and eating them first. I agree that raisin bran alone does not a meal make, but it does make delicious toppings for other meals, and mix-ins, and snacks..
