Tasty Leftovers

Hi everyone

Please continue to keep my family in your thoughts as we just received news that my grandfather is not doing well. My mom is flying up there as soon as she can and I might have to go home for awhile to take care of the house/dog/brother. I know my whole family appreciates all your kindness. Kind comments really go a long way. Especially now.

On a better note: my lunch was fabulous. I am in love with the whole wheat pita/almond butter combo. The pita did not get mushy or hard or anything. I actually softened it in the microwave for a few seconds this morning before packing it and wrapped it in tin foil to keep it’s shape. I highly recommend this easy, portable lunch! The pita was very chewy and, folded up, it fits conveniently in your purse if you need it to.

Sorry to be boring but since I hate to waste food, dinner was leftovers tonight! I reheated the last of the baked beans (again, I wish I would have made more—these are awesome!!) with more cornbread, steamed broccoli and a spinach salad with grape tomatoes, bell pepper, carrot and Goddess dressing. I’m bringing another cookie with me to school tonight because one of those super-charge-me cookies really kept me going last night when I ate it around 8:00. I was “charged up” for the next 3 hours—literally!

On another bright note—here are some more pictures of my baby. How cute is he??!! And, yes, I do sleep with stuffed rabbits. It’s a full bed these days 😉

and, yes, that quilt is from Anthropologie (I knew the question was coming)

Jenna, I am so sorry to hear about your grandpa. I really understand what you’re going through, as I’ve lost all of my grandparents at this point and I remember how stressful it was to watch them endure various illnesses. Please know that you, your grandfather and your entire family will remain in my daily thoughts and prayers. Hang in there sweetie! Big hugs!

And Dexter is such a cutie pie! He looks so comfy and cozy on your bed.

Oh and definitely no shame in stuffed animals. You should see my bed! I’ll be turning 26 this August and I have dozens of stuffed animals. I LOVE them to pieces!

Have a great night in class! 🙂

I can truly say that I know what you are going through because my boyfriend’s grandfather recently past away. We live a few hours away from them and it made it hard for us to be with him during those times. My advice would be to stay strong and rely on others in your family for support because they are the only ones who truly know what you are going through. I will keep him (and you) in my prayers.

Jenna, I will also keep your grandfather in my prayers. I hope you understand that it is normal to feel as stressed, tired, and nauseous as you are feeling right now considering the circumstances. Do not think it is weak or get frustrated with yourself–be gentle with yourself and your emotional/physical state. And please do not be afraid to ask for time off of work or to ask for help from those around you if you need it–people are almost always willing to assist in these types of situations.

I hope you get some time for “you” and that your family does okay with whatever happens.

By the way, I was in Tampa this weekend for my fiancee’s job interview. I think we are going to take it. I LOVED the city! You are so fortunate to have grown up there!!! I kept looking for you in my travels around the city 🙂
