Lunch

The Spice Factor

Hi everyone!

I just got home and made a quick lunch because I was starving! I had a Morningstar Black Bean Burger on an ezekiel english muffin with a slice of pepperjack, hot sauce and ketchup with a pear to go alongside. I just LOVE these black bean burgers! They are perfect with spicy pepperjack cheese–yum!

I have to go run some errands and then I’m hittin’ up the gym for some strength training.

Enjoy your Sunday!

how long do you microwave these for? I followed the package instructions and they totally dried out and were inedible! Usually my microwave has pretty standard settings too.

i also had one of these black bean burgers for lunch today (i had mine broken up in a flat out wrap with spinach, honey mustard, ketchup, red onion and laughing cow cheese) it was super yummy! i really do love these burgers! i usually do mine on the stove top because i like the crispy crust they get but i put mine in the microwave today for a min because i was putting in in a wrap and grilling the wrap anyways…. it was warmed thru tho. happy sunday everyone!

    M.E.,

I micro them for 1 minute and they always turn out great! I would check the power level of your microwave if I were you! I always keep mine on 10.

    Erica,

    I emailed you! 🙂

I was wondering if you knew about baking bread and adding flax to the ingredients. If the recipe does not contain water then it should work out fine, right? Because I know flax and water would make an egg-like consistency so I was just curious. Thanks!

    Laura,

All I know about flax is that I sometimes add it to my oatmeal. I have never tried flax in bread to substitute an egg so you may want to consult some vegan baking websites for that. I’m sure that it would work fine to just add whole flaxseeds to your product but if you add ground flaxseeds you need to add more liquid because that would be more dry ingredients than the recipe calls for.
