Lunch

I Love Hummus!

Still working on getting all this website stuff right guys! It’s apparently more of a process than I thought…! Ryan and I just grabbed a quick lunch at a local pub here before I have to start driving back to Orlando. I’ve been there before so I knew what to order: the hummus wrap! It’s so good and full of hummus, grilled portabellas, feta cheese and veggies…all wrapped in a toasted tortilla. It came with a spicy cucumber salad as a side that only had a spicy vinegar dressing on it. No oil, which I like! Ryan ordered the pub burger and I ate about 5 of his fries ;). I’m guessing my lunch was about 400 calories because there wasn’t much to the wrap and hummus isn’t that caloric. I have no idea what I will do for dinner tonight because I don’t have time to go to the store and don’t really have anything to eat in my apartment. It should be interesting!

Hummus wrap with cilantro dipping sauce and spicy cucumber salad!

I forgot to mention that this morning I went and got an almond latte from my favorite little coffee shop next to Ryan’s apartment but it was gross! I drank about half of it and threw it away because it tasted way to sweet and just not right. I could have just drank the entire thing but I was proud of myself for deciding it wasn’t worth it and tossing it.

lol it’s ok…this is the old comment:
congrats on the new site I have a quick question: I had someone pick up some packaged chopped walnuts, and apparently I didn’t make myself clear on the ingredients (aka WALNUTS…just plain walnuts-haha). While I appreciate my retriever’s efforts (ok…it was my mom-I’m home for the holidays :). Bless her heart, she still has things to learn about labels!), she got some packaged in corn oil. Will these still be ok to eat if I maybe cut the serving in half to cut down on some of the saturated fat? I don’t eat them every day as it is, but I wasn’t sure if they’d be worth keeping. Maybe I should just use the bag sparingly until it’s empty and buy my own next time ?:)

I’m so sorry, Nicole! Your comment must have gotten lost in internet land somewhere…I actually have never seen walnuts packaged in corn oil. That sounds interesting but corn oil is not one of the “good” fats that we want in our body…it’s pretty saturated and that may sort of ex-out the good benefits of the walnuts themselves. I don’t know if i would throw it all away because its not like you are eating handfuls of the walnuts at one time…if it were me, I would just continue to use them *sparingly* and then buy your own next time! Just keep the portion size small (I usually eat about 5 whole walnuts at a time…about 10grams). Sweet effort of mom though! My family sometimes does things like that too…which is why I always insist on doing the grocery shopping! They mean well though!! 🙂
