baked…and baked…and baked some more.
took two yoga classes back to back and now can’t feel my core. Core? What core?
killed my basil plant.
watched Charlie St. Cloud and deemed it one of the worst movies ever created except for the one quick scene where zack efron lifted up his shirt. wait no! just kidding…not really.
had sushi and champagne with my girlfriends.
called my grandma.
didn’t wash any dishes.
finished my book.
ate leftover roasted peaches straight out of the fridge.
made one of these. yummy.
bought my plane tickets to this….i’m scared.

So sweet you called your grandpa 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you baked and baked and baked!
Mastering Public Health (@MasPublicHealth)July 17, 2011 at 8:38 am
All good things (minus killing the basil). 🙂 Nice to hear you had such a relaxing weekend doing the things you enjoy. Cheers!
corey @ Learning PatienceJuly 17, 2011 at 8:43 am
champange and sushi??? sounds delicious… My husband was reading your blog last night and was seriously drooling over those peaches…. Too funny! Have a super Sunday! xoxox

Estes Park is beautiful! I live in Denver and I am thinking of attending the weekend yoga conference. Are you doing the weekend one or the Baptiste 3 day-er?
jennaJuly 17, 2011 at 9:01 am
I’m doing the 3 day Baptiste intensive! I’ve never been to Colorado before so I’m really excited!
Baking N BooksJuly 17, 2011 at 12:09 pm
Maybe instead of saying “this” when you link – you could type out what your linking to?? Like ‘ attending the “baron baptiste intensive” ‘ – and still with link.
Just that not everyone will click on vague links..or browsers (like mine) can’t handle it 🙁
Baking N BooksJuly 17, 2011 at 1:50 pm
Oh – and also – I do hope there’s a recipe coming for that cake picture!! 🙂
ErrignJuly 17, 2011 at 3:29 pm
if you just hover your cursor over it, on the bottom of your browser it usually says what the link is to.
Baking N BooksJuly 17, 2011 at 6:53 pm
Thanks – yeah I know! But not in these posts or most blogs (at least not for me).
Amber KJuly 18, 2011 at 8:39 am
I have heard people say the hover thing before, and it doesn’t work for me either! I have to click on everything and it takes FOREVER!
jennaJuly 18, 2011 at 5:44 am
you will love colorado, it’s a great place for a yoga retreat. Absolutely gorgeous!!
is that a gf yellow cake you made?
Lauren @ What Lauren LikesJuly 17, 2011 at 8:56 am
haha this was cute 🙂 cant wait for those baking recipes!!
CocoJuly 17, 2011 at 8:57 am
Awesome, Jenna. Sounds like a good weekend! Mine has been filled with opera performances, and unfortunately, a liberal dose of dish-doing as well. Oh, and roasted peaches sound awesome.
Cait's PlateJuly 17, 2011 at 9:00 am
I’m baking as well – it’s such a perfect weekend for it (but really, what weekend isn’t?)
Sounds like a wonderful weekend (RIP basil plant!)

Lisa @ Sunny Seed StoriesJuly 17, 2011 at 9:39 am
I love the rhyming at the beginning of this post. And, of course, that cake, even though I have no idea what it is. 🙂
AngieJuly 17, 2011 at 9:42 am
Looking forward to hearing about your experience at the 3 day Baptiste program. After experimenting with many different kinds of yoga, I started practicing Baptiste inspired power vinyasa yoga in February and found that I really love it and that it is the yoga for me. I’ve been thinking about participating in one of his programs and would like to hear how it goes.
HeatherJuly 17, 2011 at 9:45 am
I won’t be able to attend the conference in Estes park but if you have an extra day/evening in Colorado it would be fun to meet up!
KatrinaJuly 17, 2011 at 9:51 am
Looks like an awesome weekend!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of BalanceJuly 17, 2011 at 9:55 am
Leftover roasted vegetables and fruits are the best! I actually think I like leftover butternut squash from the night before better than on the actual night I make it 😀
Jackie @ That Deep BreathJuly 17, 2011 at 10:01 am
I watched Charlie St. Cloud while I was in San Diego and fell asleep within 10 minutes. it was 3pm. Soooooooo boring!!!
dragonfly180July 17, 2011 at 10:11 am
you bought a plane ticket to go do yoga? wow! and i thought driving 250 miles and staying a weekend in a neighboring state to do a race was a little crazy.
Molly @ RDexposedJuly 17, 2011 at 10:36 am
Your basil plant died?!! How’d that happen? What a tragedy. I am getting sad just thinking how when winter creeps up I’ll be out of fresh herbs. It pains me just to think about it!
JinJuly 17, 2011 at 10:49 am
wow what a weekend!!!
Jenna, I would like to ask you if you could do a post regarding your yoga practice. How you got started, your journey so far, where you are now.
I’m asking because I’ve been following your blog for years now and I myself do yoga a lot. I just got “back” into Baptiste yoga after quite a hiatus… After feeling my life break into little pieces and overwhelmed by stress… Just a week into devoting myself into daily yoga practice again, I’m happy that I found ground. Yoga helps me in so much more levels than just the physical benefits. The feeling of control I have in life, the calm, the intuitive eating that naturally comes. I’m so happy that I have yoga in my life.
I understand you are busy but if you can do a post devoted to your yoga practice, I’d love to hear more about where you stand! And I’m sure a lot of those out there who do yoga or who are interested will love it too.
Have a great Sunday!
KarenJuly 17, 2011 at 11:02 am
Jenna! I killed my supposedly ‘no brainer to grow’ basil plant this weekend too! Luckily I have a back-up that’s still going strong and hopefully will live out it’s natural life span so that I can support my basil dominant recipes. I so resent paying $5 for a package of basil at WF when I only need 1/4 cup.
The Baptise yoga intensive looks intriguing…lucky you!
You are SUCH a prolific reader, such an inspiration to just make the time; reading is so very rewarding!
Happy Sunday, Jenna!

I want to go to that yoga conference! I think I’ll register. 😀

When you said “finished my book”…I thought you meant YOUR book. And I was like, “Whhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?!?!”
🙂 Soon enough…
Yolie @ Practising WellnessJuly 17, 2011 at 1:46 pm
Wow, I’m so excited for you! 😀 That Baron Baptiste intensive will be absolutely incredible! Do you think you would consider becoming a teacher, or would you be just looking to intensify and deepen your practice? 🙂
My boyfriend Tom and I are going to Colorado on holiday later this year, I am SO excited for us too, lol! 😛 It looks incredbile…I can’t wait to practice yoga there too, as well as hiking and camping and biking…so fun!
This looks like such a wonderful weekend…in spite of the bad movie with the redeeming glimpse of the six pack 😉 xyx
Averie @ Love Veggies and YogaJuly 17, 2011 at 1:57 pm
Have fun on your trip with Baron! That will be sooo amazing!
Every time I’ve ever journeyed across the country or across the world on a yoga retreat, or a photography workshop, I have always left knowing so much more the subject at hand…but also experienced HUGE personal growth in sooo many other ways. Be prepared to grow and have a trip of a lifetime, in more ways than just yoga…I am thinking 🙂
Basil plants. 3.99 at TJ’s. I’m a fan 🙂
Lauri (Redheadrecipes.com)July 17, 2011 at 2:36 pm
I’m hoping to bake a peach pie still!! My husband is working on fixing our stove now, fingers crossed…
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend!

I try to bake something every weekend! I find it so relaxing … and the end result isn’t bad either! 🙂
EmJuly 17, 2011 at 2:53 pm
I second the post about being keen to hear more about your yoga story!! I keep almost getting into yoga (my mom is an intensive devotee!) but I can never quite fall in love the way other people seem to… would be amazing to hear more about your journey!
on the other hand sushi, champagne and nights with girlfriends have always been RIGHT up my street… !! xox

Jenna, what a fabulous weekend you’ve got planned. Planning trips, chatting it up with Grams, eating great food – these are what great weekends are made of 😉
Sarah @ Sarah's Modern BitesJuly 17, 2011 at 5:40 pm
Jenna! Glad to hear you had such a great weekend! I love girlfriend get-togethers that involve delicious food and of course the necessary bubbly! They tend to be very rejuvenating happenings 🙂 Sorry about your Basil plant. I have killed countless culinary plants and have decided to stop torturing the little suckers until I actually have a real yard…. and time haha. AWESOME that you’ll be participating in the Baptiste power flow immersion… I would be scared too! I sometimes go to the Baptiste yoga studio in Cambridge but the classes are always so so so crowded… and they always kick my ass. I figure it’s worth the crowd now and then. Good luck to you girl!!
MartAJuly 17, 2011 at 5:51 pm
Wow Jenna I must say that I have been a faithful reader
Of your blog for the past 3 years. The whole baptist thing just blinded me! I hope you voted no on proposition 8. I’m very sadden you seem so open and loving and the baptist doctrine is the opposite of that. Dissapoineted here but is your life not mine.

Don’t think you understood her, MartA. She is going to a yoga retreat with Baron Baptiste.

Oh Jenna! You are so lucky to attend the Yoga Immersion!! I sooooo want to go but can’t miss 4 days of work at my job. I would be awesome if you’d do a little summary or recap of your experience. I did the Foundations In Action in Boston back in March and loved it! Baron Baptiste is so inspiring, and so are you!
