Cat and Mouse

Mornin’!
And yes, Almanzo has been spotted around the blogosphere! I’m so glad he got to show the girls a good time last night in New York. I guess if I can’t be there, he’s the next best thing!
This morning I started things off on the right foot with coffee:
Half a whole wheat cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese:
And yoga with a mouse!
Dexter bats his stuffed mice around the apartment on an hourly basis. These mice end up everywhere; once when traveling, my mom opened up her suitcase and found one inside! He especially loves to hide his mice in bags, under beds, under yoga mats and in laundry baskets.
He has his game face on. Mouse catching is serious business, after all.
After about half an hour of yoga, I took a shower, ate some
leftover pizza and I’m about to head to work.
I seriously think this pizza is ever BETTER today, straight from the fridge. So, so, so good!
Today is Farm Stands at work! If you live in the Sonoma area, you should really come out—we basically transform the Kendall-Jackson Wine Center into a big farmer’s market and have fresh baked bread, pastries, cheeses, produce, and of course, wine. Here are some photos from the first Farm Stand back in May (this was before I even worked there!).
I’ll still be doing food and wine pairing out back, but hopefully can sneak away at some point to snap a few photos and grab a cookie!
And then, right when I get off I’m headed to the big city to visit a certain pregnant friend. Guess who!
Have you seen
my new Culinary Chronicles page? It’s a work in progress but slowly coming along after so many of you requested to hear more about my culinary school experience!

That market looks so fresh and relaxing; I wish I made the time to find one for myself this morning.
Something about pizza ALWAYS makes it better leftover
With your culinary experiences and craftiness for making dishes (and writing about them here) , I have a feeling some of your future book ventures will be in the food-related-area of sorts….should be interesting.
My kitten does that too with the mice. It’s so adorable!
She kept trying to put them in my boyfriend’s mom’s suitcase when she was visiting last week.
We are about to pack for a big move, so I can’t wait to see how many hidden mice we find!
The market sounds amazing! Although I am personally a fan of including wine in everything, such as shopping at the market!
My cat likes to do the mouse thing too. Except now she has hidden all of her mice somewhere and have none to play with!
I knew events like this existed! Can I come?! Can you also ask if they can schedule a similar dream-come-true day of food and wine at the end of September? Could I be anymore needy?
Have a blast today!
*any more – (I hate grammatical errors).
Oooh, I will have to check out the Culinary page!! Off to do that now…
Great post
I wish my cat was satisfied with cute toy mice. The real versions she brings in aren’t all that cute once she’s done with them. Basic instinct, I guess.
Isn’t leftover (preferably cold) pizza the reason for making/ordering it in the first place?
Enjoy your weekend!
…I agree…except I never have leftovers…

Oooh the market looks great! How often does Kendell Jackson put these on? Can’t make it today but would love to in the future sometime:) Almost nothing better than leftover pizza for breakfast! Enjoy your day:)
Kendall not (Kendell) hate when I do that!
I wish I could go to that farmer’s market. I did buy a bottle of Kendall-Jackson pinot noir, so that’ll have to do for now!
Love farmer’s makets! Looks like a fun event. I must make your pizza asap!! Pioneer woman has some amazing pizza recipes as well you should check them out…she’s my go-to when I need ideas
I love that picture of the bridge. Would love to visit San Fran!
Hahaha, love the mouse-chase-face – and stuffed mice are cute, while real, beheaded, somewhat-shredded mice are just iiiicky! That’s what my cat treated us to. That and worse, trust me. A real killer, sigh
I am suddenly in the mood for cold pizza and blueberries?!
Dexter – Oh My God – he means business!!
Is the pizza “missing” the tomatoe-sauce do you find? Is it “moist” or more of a “drier” type pizza?…LOL – does that make sense?!
I wish my farmer’s markets had food and wine pairings. I think that would make them infinitely better.
That’s one of the most amazing looking pizza’s ever…i have to try it!
just had to say that i am LOVING the travels page! i love having all of that info all together for when i go places!
wine and a farmer’s market…GET OUT OF TOWN! Sounds like a dream to me. Love Dexter! So entertaining!
haha, my cat does that too! except she has this one ball that is falling apart, and she always loses it all over our apt. we estimate we spend at least 20-30 min/day searching for her toys!
I love the farmers market so it would be great to “have” to work at one
Awwww, Dexter, so cute. I can’t eat anything like pizza/spaghetti cold. My brother/mother used to do that, grossed me out. Love the pink glasses frames & hair ribbon!
the toy mouse you found in your suitcase was a parting gift from dexter! he was thinking, “something to remember me by.” so sweet.
You should totally audition to be the Next Food Network Star! You have the culinary chops and the personality!!!!
must.make.that.pizza.
When is the next Farm Stands at KJ? I live in the city but would love to come support if there’s going to be another one!
They happen the first saturday of the month until October!
Leftover pizza is always better. I think it’s because all the sauce has time to seep into the crust.
Those sunglasses are so cute! Do you remember where you got them?
