I’m Not Leaving

I’m loving reading all your best life moments–keep it up!

Day three at Miraval and I think every bit of stress that I brought in with me has totally melted away. I think one of the best things about this place is that you really feel cared for here. There’s nowhere you need to be, nothing to you need to do… except just take care of yourself. Something we all should do more often, no? Every member of the Miraval staff is willing to go over and beyond the call of duty here for you to feel totally comfortable and at peace. Plus, they are all just so nice.

And I’m not just saying this because Miraval is hosting me, either. Y’all know I always give my honest opinions about products and places and have no problem giving negative reviews (I’ve done it before on here). No one is paying me to say good things and I certainly would never accept payment for positive reviews. I like to give you all my honest opinions, all the time. I just happen to feel really passionate about this place in particular, and actually even thought about applying here for my culinary externship back in 2008. I need to bring Almanzo here—he would LOVE this. There’s actually a ton of stuff for couples to do here such as relationship building activities, hiking, mountain biking and couples massages.

I also emailed them and asked if I could just live here and blog but they didn’t respond. Maybe that crosses the line? What if I hold on really tightly to the bed and they can’t pry my fingers from the mattress pad? Then can I stay?

Just kidding.

Not really.

Anyways! This morning I woke up at an extremely early hour and hit the gym! Whenever I travel I take little notecards with me with exercises written down on them to stay on track. Today I used an old one of Gina’s Summer Shape Up arm workouts.

Then, I ate.

Boring old me got more swiss muesli topped with ground flax, walnuts, raisins, blueberries and strawberries with two pieces of bacon on the side. Mmmm bacon.
This morning I’m participating in one of the “outdoor challenge” activities they have here—the Desert Sky Zipline Experience.

That’s not me.
This is going to be sort of hard for me, I think. Although I have no fear of heights, I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE “trust activities”. Remember those camp games where you used to fall back in a partner’s arms? Um no thank you. I like to be in control. I like do things on my own. I like to have power.
Like I said, this probably will be really good for me.

I’m the same way @trust activities. I need to be in control, at all times!

Miraval is sounding like paradise. I’m seriously considering booking a trip. I could use some self relection and R&R.

    Yikes!
You think YOU have trust issues. Try being a formerly obese woman. I used to weigh 343 pounds. Even though I am now rather petite, I still cannot do anything that requires another person to pick me up, fall back, or fly through the air. When my gigantic and muscular husband picks me up, I freak!!! 😛

So, all that’s to say, I feel your pain. 🙂 Have fun though!

Those berries, and the flying through the sky experience, look great. That’s how I’ve felt in Hawaii (in certain locales/resort hotels). The stress just melts away and have no idea how tense we really are until that happens and just in a bliss state the entire time.

I’ll like that too, will not say something I don’t mean, not for money or anything. It looks like an ultimate experience–can’t wait to go sometime.

I had a ball ziplining when I went in the Dominican! My best friend was with me and had a fear of heights but decided to try it anyway and she did GREAT! You do have a certain amount of control and our technicians did a great job on teaching us what was what and how much weight it would hold, etc. so we weren’t too nervous. I’m taking my dad ziplining next month! I hope it works for you!!!

I’ve heard of that place you are staying. Sounds heavenly. I’m pretty much the same way with trusting others. That’s why almost every picture on my blog was taken by ME. No one else can take a good one. Go have fun…fling yourself off that cliff and just try and trust:)

I’m seriously about to email Miraval to see if I work/live there. That place is AMAZING and it just gets better and better.

Ziplining is something I SO want to do. I’m sure you’re going to feel so free once you “let go”. Can’t wait to hear about it.
