Junk in the Trunk

by jenna on June 21, 2010

Hello, it’s Monday!

I slept for many, many hours last night and it felt blissful. Today my to-do list is going to be crankin’. Sidenote: every day I write out a to-do list, either on google calendar or on scratch paper on my desk. It keeps me organized….what about you?

Breakfast was a large bowl of Optimum Power cereal with almond milk, banana and one strawberry.

Sipping on some organic earl gray and going to hit the gym here in a few minutes (okay, more like an hour). Another sidenote: that dress that I wore in my weekend photos is from Target. Obviously. I don’t think they still have it though because I got it about four months ago.

I can’t stop dancing! I can’t stop the beat!
Actually, my dancing just involves a lot of hopping up and down and shaking my almost non-existant booty. And speaking of booties, I had a pretty good one goin’ there for awhile—a springy product of too many wine tastings and foie gras last winter. It’s shrunk back to its normal almost non-existant size nowadays but who’s to say when it will make its reappearance.
On another note, I can’t believe today is June 21st already. Where is this summer going??!

I am a HUGE fan of lists! Without them I wouldn’t get nearly as much done.

Claire June 21, 2010 at 8:25 am

I can’t believe it is summer either..and yes, to do lists are mandatory each day for me too!

Bethany @ More Fruit Please June 21, 2010 at 8:25 am

I’m a to-do list person too. It helps me out though because sometimes I forget about little tasks that I wanted to get accomplished. At least I know that if I write it down, it will be remembered some place!

I love the way you write.
I love that you keep your posts short but fun.

The bigger my booty is the more guys hit on me.
Weird.

I’m the Queen of to-do lists. I love the act of crossing something off, even if it’s Make To-Do List.

Reply

Beth @ DiningAndDishing June 21, 2010 at 8:34 am

I make a to-do list every day too! In my planner I write everything I need to do and a little check box next to it. So when it’s done, I can make a little “x”. It gives me a sense of accomplishment :)

Reply

Sarah June 21, 2010 at 8:37 am

I (almost) always write a list, too. I don’t always finish it, but it does help me prioritize and organize life a little better than I would otherwise.

Gah, I wish I had a bit of booty, for dancing, filling jeans, general booty-ness….it’s annoying having a flat ass!

I’m with you on the, “Where is summer going!?” . . . This one seems faster than ever. I’ve noticed that time just goes by faster in general once you get older.

I write so MANY “to do” lists that I can’t keep track of them. I need a better system. If anyone has suggestions, let me know! By the way, we should never stop dancing!

Kerry June 21, 2010 at 9:13 am

Lists are always super helpful. I need productive once things are crossed off.

I love how you’re treating your boyfriend like the neighbor, Mr. Wilson, from that old show Home Improvement. Can never see his full face… hahaha. Anyone?

Target has some cute clothes, in fact, I’ve been eyeing a dress there for awhile now…who knows, it’s probably now gone!

Clare June 21, 2010 at 9:20 am

This is such a fun blog and you have such a sweet, intelligent voice. It makes me really sad that you promote foie gras though. It requires such abusive treatment of an animal. It would probably upset your readers if you were keeping a goose in a closet and habitually shoving a pipe down it’s throat 3 times a day to force feed it so that you could eat it’s liver later. Sounds so dramatic, but that’s what happens. If anyone is interested watch it on youtube. You seem like such a smart, nice person, I hope you will think about it.

I have the everlasting to do list! I make one at the begining of the week and work off that… I love crossing stuff off… It appeals to my OCD HAHA

You can never have too much booty in the pants. Target + dresses = a lot of summer wardrobe. Happy first day of summer!

Thank you Clare.

I am totally with you Clare! Thank you for telling the rest of us more about foie gras…I think a lot of us really didn’t know where it comes from.

I’m the queen of to-do lists. Got one every single day! Probably to a fault, hehe.

That’s what I hate when I lose a few pounds – it’s always the boobs and the booty to go first :( I’d like to keep some junk back there, please!

Ha–‘Shake-Up Of the Plush Booty’. Sounds like the name of a SOMA San Francisco Club or a racy Wall Street financial crime novel. As in Bernie Maddof still reportedly has $9 billion of his ill-gotten gains hidden. Off-shore unnumbered Cayman Islands shell bank account? Now that’s plush booty. hehe

I have a 5×7 beautiful hardcover ‘To-Do’ booklet to keep on desk by laptop/cellphone…small cup of pens, highlighter, scissors, etc. Have tried keeping electronic to-do lists in various forms–and just prefer writing down long term, short term–makes me think about, distill, organize, edit things more. I don’t buy/do anything that doesn’t cohere with my over-all style/goals.

I think you want to be a good natured tease about the boyfriend…otherwise you wouldn’t show him at all,but you are showing just enough to tease any curious readers ;) Well done girl!
just kidding, you have every right to show or not show whoever!!

What is the latest on your book? Did you mention when it is out for sale or do you still have to edit more? Hope it will be in stores in Canada !!

I love Target’s clothes!

I also love making lists, but I’m terrible at actually sticking to them. I rarely complete everything on my list, but I figure making the list actually makes me do SOME of the things on my list, which probably wouldn’t have gotten done at all without the list.

Reply

Jess @ MTL Veggie June 21, 2010 at 11:07 am

Such a cute dress, can’t remember how many times I’ve said to myself “Why can’t we have Target in Canada?!”.
Summer may be flying for by for you down in Cali but its just getting started for us up north, hope you’re enjoying it though!

My list gets me thought the day. Even if I don’t get it all done I at least know what I need to do so when the rare moment my brain freezes I can look at the list and keep plugging along.

You do look like you’ve lost quite a bit of weight. I bet your anthro dress is fitting you just right now. Are you just doing summer shape up and hittin’ the gym?

Reply

jenna June 21, 2010 at 12:05 pm

I actually have only lost MAYBE three pounds, if that. I think I just toned up and replaced extra fat with muscle. I’ve been hitting the gym about 5 times a week, doing Gina’s Summer Shape Up plan and also doing a lot of high intensity interval training on the treadmill.

Tell me about it! This summer is going by insanely fast. I also write a list out everyday usually, especially if I am super busy. I love when I can cross things off and it keeps me remembering what is important!
