Helloooooooo!
I have deemed today to be the “No Carb Left Behind Tour”, starting with the Foodbuzz Farewell Brunch!
Salad, frittata and truffled croque monsiurs. Everything was delicious!
And then, I grabbed Kath, Tina, Meghann and Beth and we booked it home to Sonoma County for a day filled with wine and photography!
Adam was our tour guide slash designated driver slash photographer 😉
First up: Matanzas Creek! BEAUTIFUL!
We tasted the most delicious wines…I adored the Chardonnay and Merlot and actually bought a bottle! Matanzas Creek also grows lavender, if you can even believe it. I was in heaven.
After an absolutely amazing experience at Matanzas Creek, we headed over to the next stop: Arrowood Vineyards and Winery!
Gahhhh!!!!!!! Breathaking.
Lunch was sort of skipped in exchange for grape products 😉 So, naturally, we headed to Sonoma to search for a VERY early dinner at the ripe hour of 4:30. 😉
Girl and the Fig!!!!!!!!
Amazinggggg lavender mojito!
Cheese. bread. Cheese. bread. Went along nicely with the No Carb Left Behind Tour.
I got a croque monsiur for dinner….it was probably the best I’ve had outside of Paris. Seriously!!
After dinner we went across the street to El Dorado Kitchen for dessert!!
And ordered……three desserts! There were six of us and we couldn’t decide. One S’mores tart, one pumpkin creme brulee and 1 “pie sampler”. yesssss
For the rest of the photos from today (and there were 500 of them!!! Check out Adam’s flickr account here)

Kath is staying with me tonight in my tiny little house and we are about to cuddle. 😉
Night!!!

November 9, 2009 at 4:32 amGreat eating! I doubt you ate as many carbs as I…oatmeal, toast AND chocolate vitamuffins with cream cheese frosting all late last night…and not even hungry :(. Needless to say, I feel like CRAP today…if anyone has any suggestions on how you ‘deal’ with the physical/mental after-effects of such an evening please let me know – and yeah, I know – exercise and eat clean…but my mind is still ‘mad’ with myself. Argghhhh. Silly silly mind I know 😉

November 9, 2009 at 4:52 amI know you realize it, but you are pretty much one of the luckiest women on the face of the planet. As hard as I try, I still cannot break into a career that allows me the freedom to do what I love (food-related, of course) and get paid for it! Plus, the friendships and food are unworldly…
You have such an amazing opportunity and I thank you for sharing it with us (even if it makes me so jealous!). Enjoy it to the fullest 🙂

November 9, 2009 at 4:54 amLove the two-in-one-day croque monsieurs! I need to recreate that sammie soon. And the more desserts, the better! I have dessert almost every single day – Life is too short not to!

November 9, 2009 at 6:32 amHey Jenna! I’m new to your site and just wanted to say hello =) I met Kath a few months back while living in Charlotte but just recently moved to Colorado. Congrats on your foodbuzz award! What a fun category to win! I started a blog in May, when I opened my own granola bar business, “ota.bars.” I had to close when I moved to Colorado but hope, at some point to start it back up. I’ve always loooved cooking/design/photography [my background is in architecture]. Since being in Colorado, with no job, I of course started started a food blog “The Edible Perspective…” and hijacked my husbands camera 😉 Well, just wanted to say hi! Have a great week!

July 20, 2010 at 9:00 pmHi!
I love your blog! I was so excited to come across it.
I am currently attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York. AND I am a total health nut, so reading your story is fun. Part of my culinary program is a 4 month externship. I am moving to Sonoma and will be working at the Girl & the Fig. I saw it’s on your places to go in the wine country. That’s so exciting!
I am pumped to move to Sonoma and live the wine country life style too. Thanks for the fun blog to read!
