Wahoo Happy Friday!!!
We are supposed to have gorgeous weather all weekend with temperatures near 70 degrees (don’t hate me!). Just the thought of that makes me so incredibly happy….I do love my sunshine! It’s also Valentine’s Day weekend! Anyone have fun plans? 🙂
I was in a bit of a funky mood when I went to bed last night–sort of stressed out about the book, yada yada yada—but after a solid 9 hours of sleep I feel like a whole new person. And I’m very excited to go to a yoga class today, seeing as I haven’t been to a class in a week!
Breakfast involved two of my favorites—

MixMyGranola has a new gluten-free line of yummy cereal out and the company was so kind as to send me some to sample. Even though I don’t need to eat gluten-free, this was still delicious! And since MixMyGranola loves ELR so much, they have extended a special 15% off discount on all of their products for y’all. Just type in the code “eatliverun” at checkout!

My bowls of cereal are always gigantic! Mmmmmm
***
And now, for a little treat 🙂

I KNOW I’m not the only dark chocolate addict out there. Anyone??! Well, in honor of Valentine’s Day being right around the corner, Hershy’s has decided to give away one mega chocolate package to a lucky reader. This package will include: 1 bar of Hershey’s Extra Dark Pure Dark Chocolate in either cranberry, blueberry and almond flavor, raspberry flavor or pomegranate flavor. 1 box (36 bars!!) of Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate Bars, 1 box (24 bars) Hershey’s Special Dark mildly sweet dark chocolate bars with almonds, 2 bags of Hershey’s Nuggets Special Dark with almonds.
Can you say sugar high? Think of all the S’MORES you could make with all that!!!! At least, that’s what I’m thinking about. 🙂
Anyways, to enter the giveaway, just leave a comment on this post telling me what your favorite chocolate dessert is. I’ll pick a winner by 10 am tomorrow morning. I’ll go first—my favorite chocolate dessert would definitely have to be my mom’s chocolate walnut torte. I always requested it on my birthday and it’s killer! However, the chocolate lava cakes at Roy’s would have to come in at a close second….Okay, what the heck, I love chocolate anything and everything!
Happy Friday!

February 12, 2010 at 7:37 amI have to admit that I am a dessert FREAK. I always have to have something sweet at the end of my meals. Ice cream and anything topped with ice cream is probably the best thing for me. My favorite is the Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie (the boxed stuff that u make), warm with a large scoop of Vanilla. My room mate and I make them frequently make them on Sundays for our Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters fix. A perfect way to end the week: good friends, good shows and chocolate!

I’m thinking I might need to go to that restaurant this weekend!

February 12, 2010 at 9:23 amHello! I’m a 20-year-old student with a great interested in exercise&nutrition (I just changed my major to pursue it, actually!) . I recently started following your blog & I really agree with your fitness ideology!
As far as chocolate is concerned, I make these awesome chocolate pretzels for my friends/family during the holidays. Pretzels rods dipped in dark chocolate & rolled in crushed peppermint (my personal favorite), nuts, or heath bar. Yum.

February 12, 2010 at 9:23 amThat breakfast looks good!
Hmm, chocolate give-away. Well, my favorite chocolate dessert… I don’t even know what they’re officially called or where the recipe came from, but Chocolate Bombs are what we always called them. My mother would make them for special occasions like parties, birthdays, etc. They’re baked in custard cups, and they’re basically little molten chocolate cakes. Baked on the outside and gooey on the center. You tap the top with your spoon and the crust breaks and there’s oozy, goozy chocolate in the middle… they’re awesome.

February 12, 2010 at 12:07 pmHmmm, that is a hard question to answer! There are all kinds of good chocolate desserts, chocolate cheesecake, brownies, truffles, tofu mousse, chocolate zucchini bread (those last two being token attempts at health)!
Honestly? I’m just happy to eat any of them these days. I’m recently in recovery for a hard and horrible eating disorder that took years of my life. I’m still working on eating and enjoying different foods, but when I do I’m like a kid discovering the world. I know almost everybody enjoys a good piece of chocolate, but I feel a bit of special delight I think, whenever I take a bite.

February 12, 2010 at 6:32 pmSince I am a chocoholic in DESPERATE need of an intervention, I must ALWAYS have instant access to chocolate dessert at all times. I love the 5 minute chocolate lava cake made in my favorite Starbuck’s mug (in the MICROWAVE!). A chocoholic’s dream is never more than 5 minutes away!
My daughters favorite chocolate treat is when I take Hershey’s dark chocolate squares and melt them inside of our favorite croissants! Yummy!

February 12, 2010 at 6:51 pmFavorite chocolate dessert?? There’s too many to pick just one!!
There’s a local restaurant in Greensboro (NC) that has AMAZING Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake (ganachebakery.com). They also have an Oreo Chocolate Cake to die for!
Then again, you can’t go wrong with PF Chang’s Great Wall of Chocolate.
And any I love any restaurant that serves a mean hot chocolate cake!
I’ll stop now…but you better believe that Dark Chocolate would be put to good use 😉

I love Hershey and I have always DREAMED of going to the Hersey Spa in Pennsylvaia and getting their chocolate manicure/pedicure…but the surprise of winning this would beat that, I think. Chocolate is my favorite thing ever and Valentines weekend is the perfect excuse to indulge a little!

February 12, 2010 at 9:03 pmJenna I feel like you wrote this post especially for me! I was diagnosed with celiac disease last year and the only gluten free cereal I eat is Chex (except for the whole wheat variety, obvi). Was that MixMyGranola yummy? I might have to give a whirl. And I am DEFINITELY a dark chocolate addict! I have to make my roommate hide mine so I can’t eat it all in one sitting! I definitely need my dessert. Breakfast dessert, lunch dessert, dinner dessert and then bedtime snack dessert 😉 I think I would make GF chocolate chunk cookies if I win, haven’t had Chocolate Chip cookies in months!!!

February 13, 2010 at 2:38 amSeriously, you want us to pick just one?
I could never pick just one. Just like I couldn’t pick my favorite movie — too many favorites. Or my favorite book. Same story.
Love lava cakes. I still remember this crepe filled with vanilla ice cream, fried, with chocolate sauce from a French restaurant we used to go to in VT (it’s been 18 years since we lived there, so that tells you how much I love dessert!).
The pie from Veganomicon? What’s it’s name? Smlove? That’s pretty awesome.
Ok, I guess there you have it: a great peanut butter chocolate pie. PB & chocolate is my absolute fav. The Hill Country Cafe in Austin, TX used to make one that was the only reason I liked going there — I’m not a big barbecue fan — and I was crushed when they took it off the menu!
P.S. Does the fact that Valentine’s Day is my birthday help at all? Just sayin’.

February 13, 2010 at 3:06 amI absolutely LOVE Nigella Lawson’s chocolate cakes in her book How to be a Domestic Goddess! They are soooo yummy! And Hersheys has been my go-to for dark chocolate for quite a while now. What a great give-away!

February 13, 2010 at 6:40 amMy favorite chocolate dessert would have to be my friend’s rendition of a homemade rice kripy treat. Except he makes them, toasts a marshmellow lays it on top, pours homemade chocolate genauche (sp?) on top with some graham cracker crumbles as the finishing touch. Its like a fireside smore/treat The description doesn’t do it justice.
