Breakfast

Busy Day!

Good morning!

I treated this Saturday morning like another weekday morning, getting up early, eating half a banana with pb then going to the gym, because I have a lot to do today and need to get it all done! I’m feeling super motivated to find my externship for school today, which I start in September (it’s going to come sooner than I think….). So, I printed out a ton of my resumes on super nice fancy paper and I’m going to drive around to all the bakeries and places in Tampa and try to make some connections. I can’t keep putting it off because I want to feel at least a little secure as I finish up school this summer!

Of course the thing that is the most important on my to-do list today is SEX AND THE CITY! Ryan is NOT the sex and the city type of guy and, honestly, it’s not the type of movie I would want to go with him to anyways. I remember in high school and college my girlfriends and I would have “sex and the city parties” where we would all dress up like our favorite character, go to each other’s houses and make fun drinks and watch the dvds together. Awww just thinking about that makes me miss my group of high school girlfriends SO much.

Tonight I am going with Ryan’s sister, Erin, and her roommate and we are meeting at 4:00 to have cosmos and tapas and then going to an early movie. I’m so excited! I made my mom get my ticket yesterday from the mall so it wouldn’t be sold out already.

So, this morning I did a quick strength workout at the gym—those leap frog squats I like to do, chest press, triceps, back and lat pull-down with a treadmill warm up. When I got home I toasted an english muffin and smeared pb and jam on it and had it with the fruit bowl my boss got me yesterday. Usually fruit bowls are a little sketchy in my book…they have to be fresh and not mushy. This one was really really good! The melon was perfectly sweet :). I also made an espresso in my espresso machine this morning and pretended I was in Europe.

School was last went well. I think I did alright on my practical but have to wait until Monday when I unmold my charlotte royal to be graded. No big disasters though to report!

Gotta get started on this busy Saturday!

    Jenna,

I know you drink lots of tea and water, but in the summer, hot tea is not appealing!

I’d rather not drink artificial products such as crystal light and was wondering if you have any suggestions? I’d also rather not have 200 calories worth of sugar from only 16 oz of juice (those calories can be much better spent on cookies!). What do you drink in Florida since the weather is nice all year when you want cool drink?

Renee, i live in Florida and like iced flavored teas. Lots of people here do sweet tea, of course. Delish but a sugary indulgence.

Jenna, I give you mad props for not forcing Ryan to the movie. To be honest, if I were with a guy that was psyched for this film I’d be a little worried. 🙂

Have fun tonight. All I can think about is how happy local bars are that they are going to be able to push pricey cosmos again!

    NJ,

Haha! Cosmos are actually one of my favorite drinks when I need to feel classy 😉 I just rarely order them because they are SO expensive. But, tonight is a splurge night and it’s alright.

    Renee,

Great question! Whenever I go out in the summer I always pack ice water in my reusable water bottle…OR I make a big batch of iced herbal tea (usually green tea) and drink that. It’s so easy to make a big batch of iced tea that can last awhile in your fridge. Just use about 4 of your favorite teabags and brew a pitcher and stick it in your fridge. another idea is to fill ice cube trays with the tea and make fun ice cubes….you could also do this with fruit juice or pureed watermelon (which I want to try because that sounds yummy). I’m a huge water drinker and never leave my house without my big 32 ounce bottle filled. I pee all day long but its worth it to be hydrated!

Good luck finding the externship! I’m sure you won’t have any trouble at all.

You know, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a whole episode of Sex and the City. And now, with all this hype around the movie, I really feel as though I have missed out!

    Thanks NJ and Jenna!

NJ or Jenna, how would you make a flavored ice tea? Wouldn’t it taste water down?

Jenna have fun at the movie and good luck with externship search 🙂

Kristie, I am with you…..I have seen episodes, but still don’t really understand what makes it so popular. It seems kinda vulgar!

Iced Tea is my fav! I love your idea of making it into ice cubes. I love tea with anything, all year long. Have you ever tried to make sun tea?

I saw the movie last night and I was not thrilled. Neither was my sister in law, but I think the lady next to us was crying, so I think she liked it. Anyway, have a great time!

    Hey Renee,

I have local places I hit up that have amazing flavored teas, so I don’t really make them myself. Back in the midwest in summer we used to make sun tea constantly though. Tea bags in a big water jug outside in the sun… yum.

I got a kick out of people crying over SATC in the theater too! It’s like, okay it is a movie about middle age chicks living glamorous, excessive lives. Fun and all, but if you’re crying over it, you may need a reality check, lol.
