Well, this morning Ryan and I hit the gym for a great workout!
I did a cardio blasting circuit workout to start to burn off some of those dessert and vino calories last night (they were SO worth it though!). Here’s what I did:
15 minutes cycling on hill mode
15 minutes jogging on the treadmill at 5.5 speed
15 minutes on the elliptical
=45 minute cardio workout
I was going to do some weights as well but plan on going to another BodyPump class tomorrow night so I skipped them today. After our workout, we headed to one of Vero’s classic lunch joints so Ryan could experience a true “bobby’s burger”
Bobby’s is just a really old school local’s place on the beach. They serve lunch and dinner and then at night, the bar is pretty popular. I ordered the Shrimp Skewer Salad with honey mustard dressing on the side:
For being just a typical “bar-salad”, it was amazing and I finished the entire thing (obvi)! The only problem was that I wanted more shrimp! Whatever they were marinated in was awesome and then they were grilled to perfection. I definitely did not need all this salad dressing though—I just drizzled it on.
Ryan ordered the very famous “bobby’s burger”:
The fries were thin, crispy and TO DIE FOR and I quickly became a ravenous beast and attacked them:
Eventually, THIS had to happen so I wouldn’t eat the entire plate (Ryan doesn’t really like fries):
See?? I have zero self control! Sometimes I just have to ruin the fries so I won’t continue to stuff my face, which just felt wrong after such a great workout. Ryan thought this was funny.
Ryan has to leave in an hour so I better go spend some quality football time with him now. When he leaves I’m hitting the grocery store for a few essentials (I’m going home Thursday after work so I don’t need much) and then coming back, doing bible study and cleaning up a bit to get ready for this short week!
See you soon!

November 23, 2008 at 1:24 pmGood fries are worth it! And I think ruining them IS a sign of self-control! I’d just let myself keep eating. 🙂

November 23, 2008 at 1:29 pmHaHa, ruin the fries! That’s a good idea.
I know how you feel. I splurged last night after dinner and ordered a killer dessert. I ate about half and the waitress came over to ask if I wanted a box. I polited responded with a “No thank you” but in my head I was thinking “TAKE IT AWAY FROM ME!!”

November 23, 2008 at 1:32 pmHA! That make me chuckle because I have to do the same thing, only sometimes I can’t even force myself to ruin the food, so I have to make my husband destroy it for me.

November 23, 2008 at 1:50 pmIs it bad that I would’ve eaten the fries even with the dressing all over them?!

November 23, 2008 at 2:54 pmI have to do the same thing 🙂 Though if I’m at a restaurant with a paper napkin, the simple act of covering the plate with it some how gets me to stop… I still know it’s there, but there’s something about not seeing it that helps my self control.

November 23, 2008 at 3:11 pmoh my goodness, those fries!!!! one of my friends pours a packet of artificial sweetener on top of whatever’s left so that she doesn’t eat it. i’m not sure the dressing would have stopped me!

November 23, 2008 at 3:32 pmGreat workout! And oh, the shrimp look delicious…I love grilled shrimp! But, the burger and fries look scrumptious, too!! I would’ve had to do the same thing to the fries. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has to do that sometimes! Ha! What a great Sunday for you guys!
