Fun News and Pretzel Galore

Hi everyone! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!

I got great news today! I received special permission from the store manager to take all the photos I want for the blog! How cool is THAT?! Now yall can FINALLY see what I really do  every day!!!!!

This morning I had another lovely:

Followed by chocolate oatmeal and an orange during my “lunch break”:

And then for lunch, I got lucky and both my parents came to store to eat with me after my shift!! So nice of them 🙂 I made a HUGE salad from the salad bar with mixed organic greens, red onions, garbanzo beans, edamame, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and a sprinkle of craisins—all drizzled with thai peanut dressing:

Along with a little seaweed salad:

And a big chunk of my mom’s cornbread (we make the best cornbread EVER because it has creamed corn in it!):

It was soooo good and I am feeling so stuffed right now! Especially after an unpictured mini chocolate chip cookie sample. Oops. 😉

So, today at work we got goofy and made batman shaped soft pretzels—

And regular ones for the customers—

These huge soft pretzels are a new thing we are doing…..brought on by the recipe that I brought over from school! I have to take some of the fame for the pretzel craze because of that, right?! Customers go crazy for these and we have samples out all day. Sometimes we do cinnamon sugar ones as well—my favorite!

Courtney is coming over in 20 minutes for our walk and then I have to head out to the mall to go to the apple store because something is very wrong with my laptop charger (as in it is broken). Right now I am using my brother’s charger but I can’t rely on using his all the time so I have to get a new one I think 🙁

See you in a bit!

Yummm, I love soft pretzels! A place near where I went to school makes them into letters, which is a really fun party “treat”- like we had the school’s initials at graduation parties or our sorority letters at parent’s weekends, etc – so fun!

Yay! I’m so happy to see what you make and do in a day!

This is sort of a random question but as the days get closer to starting pastry school for me, I keep thinking of really random things…did you have a hard time keeping your chef whites clean in class? Did you have a hard time getting them clean and pressed? Thanks 🙂

      February 13, 2009 at 7:29 pm

      Becca,

Haha! YES and YES and YES!!!!! i am SO messy and carry tide to go with me wherever I go!!! As for keeping everything pressed—I try to catch it all right when it comes out of the dryer and then I douse with downy wrinkle release! Works like a charm!
