I randomly found your blog about 2 wks ago and since, I have been reading it every morning and night. I LOVE to cook/bake- my true passion, and run- actually just started training for a 1/2 marathon after the loss of a good friend of mine to cancer. I have always ate healthy due to the fact that I had an eating disorder in Jr. High, which I fully recovered from, but learned and fell in love with nutrition along the way. Whole food, no diets, fruits and veggies 🙂
I went to a short culinary/wine school in Florence and wish I would have followed that path, instead I work 50 hours a week and releive all my stress through running/yoga etc. I am not 100% confirmed on this, but I am pretty sure you and the girls Healthy summit girls have inspired me to start my own blog!!!
So, I would LOVE to receive the Avocate Skin Care line of products to try, b/c it is difficult for me to find time to take care of my skin, and healthy, natural ways to do so are vital. I think it would be a great opportunity to share how they worked and keep shinning on!!!

I have experienced the most stressful time in my life these last 4 weeks as I am finalizing my PhD thesis. Focus, writing, focus, little sleep etc. The bad thing is that, I think because of the stress, my face started to break out really bad but I did not have the energy to deal with it. Looking in the mirror is still no fun.
I’ve read great things about this line of products and also the effect they had on your skin Jenna. So I would love to try them out and see if the products can bring my skin back to normal!

Hi, Jenna! Like you, I’m a runner (I’ll be in SF, as well, in October running the marathon!), and all the time spent outside in the DC heat and humidity for long runs just wrecks *havoc* on my skin. Add that to the fact that I’ll be turning 30 in a month (how did it happen so fast?!) and you’ve got one concerned girl on your hands. I’d *love* to give Avocate a try.

I just found out this morning that my skin care go-tos, which are satisfactory but super fabulous, have way more potentially harmful chemicals and irritants than I realized (really, more than I think they should be allowed to have if they’re being marketed to the public). Sometimes – more frequently than in the past – my skin straight-up stings and burns after I remove my makeup, wash my face and apply moisturizer at night. I thought it was the ravages of summer sun + sunblock but perhaps it’s the icky toxins in my “cleansing” products?? I’d love to see if Avocate could solve my problems!!

Jenna, I wasn’t in a banana mood from ages 3 to 21. Then in college our dining room only had apples, bananas, or oranges. Only so many apples a person can eat and oranges can be sticky (but delicious!) and not a good snack when you’re trying to transcribe your lecture scribble, so bananas it was. Now I try to have one a day – can’t believe I never liked them!! 🙂

Hi Jenna – I found your blog through a couple of others I’ve been reading. I’ve really enjoyed reading about the HLS – wish I could have gone!! Avocate sounds great. I have super sensitive skin and when I browsed their website they said it was made for for the most sensitive of skin… which would be me, 🙂 Thanks for sharing about them, I have been looking for a great skin line that won’t make my skin go nuts!

I would love a chance at the Avocate. I try to stay with completely vegan, cruelty free products, but it can be expensive. I’m currently experiencing a bout of bad skin like I haven’t faced since high school. Maybe this could help!

I’m working on losing weight and getting healthy. One major problem I have (not sure if it’s linked to being overweight or not) is unclear skin. I’ve tried Proactiv and the other fancy things that the infomercials tout, but they are all to harsh for my skin. I’d like to try Advocate, and hope I made it in for the giveaway.
