Morning!
First of all, a huge PRE-congratulations to my Florida marathon girls this morning!!!!!! I’m so proud of them 🙂
So, yesterday, Kelly and I are sitting at the Goat drinking mochas and gabbing about life and decided spur of the moment to hit up a movie next door that was starting five minutes later. We saw It’s Complicated and it was hilariousssss!!!! I haven’t been to a movie on Saturday afternoon with a girlfriend in forever and it was awesome. Exactly what the doctor ordered 🙂
After the movie, I literally raced to get home, get showered and met up with Hardy, Adam, Rick and Jaimie for dinner at Diavola. Second time eating Diavola pizza in one week…life ain’t half bad! 😉 They had all come from a Ridge wine tasting (my FAVORITE Zinfandel!) and brought a bottle with them for dinner.
We ordered a bunch to share between the five of us, including the most fabulous roasted beet salad:

Tripe (!!!!)
A margharita pizza:
A “cha cha cha” (my fav with the pork belly and goat cheese!)
Holy Italian food! Everything was awesome. I had a teeny bit of tripe (tasted like hamburger helper to me?), salad, a slice of each kind of pizza and about four big noodles in the ragu. I actually left a little hungry and thinking back, should have eaten the other slice of margharita pizza.
And then I went to sleep at 9:30! It was awesome. I’m such a crazy rebel. Obviously.
This morning, had chia oats in a jar!
I used 1/3 c oats, 1 T chia, mix of soymilk + water, banana and about 1 T almond butter. With
Stash double bergamot tea…my favorite!
***
To clear it all up, YES I still work at the winery. I’m actually working there today! You see, it’s the slowwwww season right now here in wine country and I’ve cut back a lot to focus more on writing. I still work there and will continue to do so a day or two a week from now on, but my primary focus is my book because my manuscript is due, errrrr, April 1st. gasp!
Hope y’all have a pleasant and relaxing Sunday. Talk to later!

January 10, 2010 at 7:56 amJenna:
Was thinking of you this morning when I read about the earthquake in Northern California. Obviously you’re OK, but wasn’t sure if you were affected by it?
I’ve had haggis before – it does taste like hamburger too . . . except I think they cover the taste up with a heap of seasonings and veggies for the tourists 🙂 My dad is old school British and loves offal . . . I think it might be skipping a generation!! 🙂

January 10, 2010 at 8:42 amAhh that pizza sounds to.die.for. Jealous!! I love afternoon movies — I cannot go to the movies on a weekend night — especially if its a movie I realllly want to see…I cannot stand when people talk through movies…and I feel like I always end up next to chatty people esp. on weekends.

January 10, 2010 at 8:52 amI’m sure you are doing just fine with the writing. Just keep plugging away at it. I’m sure it is nice to have the extra time to get things done. When do things start picking up again in wine country?

January 10, 2010 at 11:01 amOkay, I’ve heard so much good stuff about that movie…will have to see it I guess – for all the movies that’s out there , it doesn’t seem like there’s much to choose from at the same time? maybe it’s just because i’m not into action/special effects stuff , and ‘leap year’ seems like the usual…my i need to ”broaden my horizons”!!

January 10, 2010 at 11:59 amOh, man. I have tried tripe before, too, but I don’t have the need to ever again. I’m pretty sure my reasoning is all mental and that it’s really not that bad, and I’m fine with that. 🙂

January 10, 2010 at 8:32 pmThanks for the winery explanation. I knew you were enjoying the work at your winery, thus my question last night. Looks like I wasn’t the only one wonderful. But your answer certainly makes sense. I can imagine that the book has to come first. Can’t wait to see what your final product looks like, how you’re structuring the stories vs recipes, etc. You’ll have lots of buyers, I’m sure, just like the Pioneer Woman did.
Best of luck to you! I’ve so enjoyed following you blog/life since Gina (Fitnesssista) introduced me to you when your life was taking a tough turn.
Happy writing!
