Dessert/ Dinner/ Exercise/ Fitness/ Lunch

No.More.Side.Planks.

Hey hey!

It’s been a busy Sunday….in a good way! This morning I rushed to church then straight to work then straight to yoga and finally home.

My packed lunch consisted of two tab&j wraps (tempeh/almond butter/jelly! hoorah!) and baby carrots:

IMG_4094.JPG
I used 1/3rd block of raw tempeh with just a smear of almond butter and jelly…..never tried this combo before but it rocked! So good and incredibly filling, too. I think a few people were asking what kind of wraps these are and the answer is La Tortilla Factory wheat wraps. They are each only 50 calories and very, very soft.
Snack was one of my very favorite bars:

And then I was off to a 90 minute hot power flow class. SO MANY SIDE PLANKS. CAN’T RAISE MY ARMS ABOVE MY CHEST NOW. Seriously hurtin’ for certain. Soaked in a bubble bath but my triceps are still like jel-layyyy.
I was about to eat my aching arms off by the time I got home so I threw together one of my fast favorites:

IMG_4099.JPG
TJ’s couscous quinoa blend with shrimp, 1/2 c chickpeas and red curry sauce with sriracha and steamed broccolini on the side.
After dinner I tried to blog and then got frustrated because my server was down…..so I went and got frozen yogurt to console myself.

Oh the joy of California’s self serve yogurt places. This is a mix of mint and tart yogurt with oreos, chocolate chips and caramel. However, it was sort of a backfire because after mixing the two flavors I realized I didn’t really LIKE the tart flavor there so I tried to scoop it out into the trash…but save the toppings. It got messy and then I just got hungry and inhaled it anyway.
Need to answer some emails, take my contacts out and write five pages of zee book. Night night!

I need a selfserve yogurt place in my neighborhood. I also need it to be less than below zero so I would feel like walking there. And as long as I am wishing, I want the walk to be pretty and involve at least one foot bridge over a babbling creek.

How did you prepare the tempeh? Straight out of the package or did you heat it first? I love getting it when I got out, but preparing it at home intimidates me! 🙂

This might be a dumb question, but what does the tempeh taste like? Is it like tofu in that it basically soaks up whatever flavors are around it?

How do I eat tempeh with AB & J? I’m so confused. I only use it in savory dishes once it’s soaked in broth. How do I do it raw? Is there some way to prepare it so it’s not a hard dry mess? (how it comes in the package) I buy it at Whole Foods in the fridge section by the fake deli meats & dairy. Is there another type of tempeh?

    Thanks, Jenna!
