heyo 🙂
Gosh, today was CRAZY! Is it totally horrible of me to say I think its worth it to work Barrel Tasting just to see everyone’s outfits alone??! I definitely saw some crazy stuff today. Very amusing. I will never understand why so many girls wear the tiniest dresses + stiletto heels when wine tasting….hmmmm just seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
I didn’t have my healthiest day, but it’s all about moderation, right?! 😉 My boss is amazing and ordered six pizzas for us to chow down on while we worked. I had a couple slices of this Mediterranean pizza, which was to die for!

It has pesto, feta, onions, tomatoes and black olives on it. Mmmmmmmm I love pizza.
No snack but I did sip on this lovely concoction that was sent to me to review by the kind folks over at Tazo.

I liked it….but it definitely had the “stevia” taste to it, which can’t really be considered a bad thing but I think I just prefer real sugar in my tea…or nothing at all.
I got home around 5:30 and was BEAT. However, I smelled something delicious coming from my backyard and discovered my neighbor making the most amazing creation I ever laid eyes on….

Bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers stuffed with pulled pork and cream cheese? Yes, please. No words, my friends. No words. I ate three of these and they were fan-freakin-tastic. Must recreate STAT. I also had some red wine (probably 2 glasses) and a little Kashi h2h cereal once back at my house. It was just that kind of day/night.
I was going to go out with one of my girlfriends tonight but, honestly, I’m just too beat and really should be responsible and write a little bit since I didn’t get anything done today and tomorrow I’m working again all day at the winery.
Night!

March 14, 2010 at 8:50 amYou are so right, heels and short skirts do not go well at wine tastings. Besides, who wants to sit on a bar stool in a skirt? Too uncomfortable. Anywho, that pizza looks amazing, I was actually just wondering if feta could go on a pizza and I think the answer is Yes!

March 14, 2010 at 11:07 am“Bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers stuffed with pulled pork and cream cheese.” That’s just evil genius. Your neighbor timed it so you’d come down, partake and write about it, and have 1M strangers vicariously licking their laptop screens. It’s all a plot to go big on release at TJ’s. bwaaahahahhaha.

March 14, 2010 at 1:28 pmIt’s so much fun to watch people drink too much in standing-room-only dresses and sitting-room-only heels! Though I am possibly jealous at those that can pull it off, because I lack the necessary grace to do so…

What’s your favorite thing to bake or cook Jenna? I assume since your book is based on recipes and stuff – it’s a ‘passion’ of yours? Would you ever like to be solely in the kitchen? Or do you like the combination with writing and other stuff….?

August 11, 2010 at 2:55 amI TOTALLY agree 🙂 Glad to hear you had a great day of R&R with wonderful food! This reminds me of the EXACT thing I get from a place called Dinosaur BBQ at home. Slow smoked pork with their signature cole slaw, beans and corn bread…did I mention the beans are the good ones cooked with bacon. HEAVEN. You look beautiful your date was very lucky 🙂

August 11, 2010 at 7:23 amOK, when you say NC pulled pork – is it REALLY NC style? do they use a vinegar sauce or tomato based? My NC man wants to know and might be willing to drive to Sonoma County for this.

August 12, 2010 at 5:09 amIt always surprises me (and saddens me) when I hear that people think there is only one good and healthy way to eat. And if you stray from that in any way you must turn in your “healthy” eating card. (it also bums me out that people feel the need to ‘call you out’ publicly, but i guess that’s to be expected)
What I love about this blog, Jenna, is your complete zeal for life, you ability to face devastating loss and continue celebrating your own life. That’s what healthy living is. It’s not about the food.
keep it up, girl.
