Behind The Butter

Growing Up Is Hard To Do

Mornin’!

I have to say, it feels so weird for it to be Saturday and to not be running!!!! My heel is healing quite nicely though and I’m sure I’ll be able to to run the 7.5-8 miles tomorrow. Today I think I’ll do some yoga when I get back home.

I slept great last night in my little bed here. Its funny because Christie’s house really IS like home to me…even more so than my real home! I basically grew up in this house (her family lived 1 mile away from my family) and then I really did live here with Christie’s parents last year while doing my externship. Heck, I have their house key on my key chain. Sigh. Growing up is weird.

Since Christie and I basically went through an entire jar of peanut butter during the last week, I took full advantage of the empty jar and made “oats-in-a-jar” for breakfast!

I used two packets instant oatmeal, 1 cup soymilk and a few craisins. We ate all the fruit in the house! I drizzled in some pure maple syrup though and it was diiiiivine 🙂

I’m packing up and will be on the road soon. I’m excited for some quiet to collect my thoughts….my brain is running overtime right now with ideas!

Oats in a jar is possibly one of the best blog inventions ever. It’s been too long since I did some maple syrup drizzling though… Have a good trip back!

    Jenna,

Remember to be patient with life. The moments that you let go and not life consume your thoughts..is the moment that you begin to enjoy the life that you’ve been given.

    Big decisions ahead. Have faith…

I had the same thought many times this week–this is being a grown-up? Can’t I just go back to being younger and carefree, before “real life” butt in?
However, you live, you learn and you eat delicious food in between. It looks like you had a fabulous week and have so much to be grateful for and look forward to.
    Consider me jealous…

I need to retry oats in a jar. Maybe I didn’t leave enough PB in when I did it before. Also, smart balance is one of my new loves. It’s like Jif except healthy–how good. Enjoy the chobani at home!

I have the exact same relationship with my best friend at home in england! I grew up at her house and then actually lived there when I got back from travelling and my parents had moved to Spain! Her mum’s cooked dinners feel like home. Just think: you are so lucky to have TWO places to call home.

Growing up is hard, but necessary. There are some great things about it though. I live so far from home (a different country!) and whenever I go back, I feel calmer and more myself right away.
