Holding My Focus

Good evening πŸ™‚

Well, my quads were definitely on the sore side when I practiced yoga via yogadownload’s Baptiste Power Flow class. Every time I go back to practicing after an absence, I can always feel it in strange muscles I never knew I had in my legs. When I got Ryan to attend a beginner class when he came to visit me while I was still in college (back when we first started dating!) the next day he couldn’t move. And he’s in good shape! He said he found muscles he never knew he had. And that’s exactly it! I’ve only gotten him to come to one other class with me since then and that’s it, but you never know what could happen when I move back!

The Baptiste class I did was actually for beginners tonight and I highly recommend it to you if you have been to a yoga class before but are very new to the practice. Dave, the instructor, walks you totally through the entire hour and gives great instruction that is pretty downright humorous at times! Even though I’ve been practicing for going on 8 years now, I still take beginner classes from time to time because I use it to sink deeper into postures and really focus on little things that I usually breeze right through when I’m in a typical power-flow class (such as warrior two. Ouch). The class tonight reallyyyyy focused on holding certain postures to a point of discomfort but you try to learn to breathe through that and enjoy the moment as it passes.

Afterwards, I made a quick dinner of a large baked sweet potato with a morningstar farm’s veggieburger topped with Sabra’s roasted garlic hummus

I just adore the “hummus on top of veggie burger” combo. It’s divine.

For dessert, two AMAZING ginger cookies. I’ve had some recipe requests for these cookies but, sadly, I cannot release it due to copyright laws. It can be found in the Black Dog Restaurant Cookbook though! I think the price of the cookbook is well worth it just to have these cookies!

Currently, I have christmas music blasting and am drinking sugar cookie tea (the “parents” are out for the night) but I’m about to switch modes and break out the bible to finish up the last night of my 10 week Beth Moore Bible Study! Funny (or not really….duh, God!) how the study was exactly the number of weeks that I would be away from my family here in Vero.Β  πŸ˜‰

Tomorrow my best friend, Christie, comes home from law school for Christmas break!!!!!! Its so weird because I’ve been living in her house and she’s so far away. I can’t wait for tomorrow night and Jake Owen though! πŸ™‚

Which Beth Moore BS are you doing now? I’ve heard from several sources that her BSs are awesome and life changing. Do tell!
