Lunch

Pass the Bubbly

Helloo!

I hope y’alls Thursdays are treating you well. It’s stormy here in Orlando but that just gives me an excuse to hunker down and get some work down on these projects I have for school this afternoon before (hopefully!) it clears up and I can head downtown again for another run! 🙂

First off—loooooved that Blueberry Z-bar! It was so much more tasty than their chocolate flavors to me for some reason, and I love chocolate! This was definitely my favorite kind and I will be buying it again in the future!

For lunch today I had a soup and sammie combo. I had a cup of Pacific Foods Creamy Tomato soup with a turkey sandwich and a pear.

On my sandwich I had two slices of organic smoked turkey, 2 bread and butter pickle slices, jalepinos, spinach, dijon and a light laughing cow. It was very tasty!

After lunch I sneaked a small piece of oatmeal bar but it dodged the camera because the camera is charging! I just have to end my meals with something sweet I guess.

Speaking about sweet, tomorrow we are tasting some sweeter wines…with chocolate! I believe we are tasting some Reislings, Champagne and some Italian sparkling wines. I have never been a big fan of sweet wine but I do like Champagne! Today we learned all about how Champagne is made (it’s fermented twice to keep the bubbles in it!) and about German wines. We also watched a video from the History Channel on how wine is made. It was very interesting as well–I love that I feel like I’m learning so much every day!

I have two big projects to work on this afternoon. The first is my wine project. I already wrote my paper on the Pacific Northwest region and the history of its wine, and now I’m working on my menu and pairing it with wines from the region. I also have a cost control project where I have to do sort of like a business proposal of a restaurant that I would open, write a menu and cost each item out. I am doing a vegan dessert cafe!  I have to look through some cookbooks for inspiration!

See you for dinner!

Definitely fill us in about tomorrow. I’ve always read that chocolate is incredibly hard to pair with wines, so I’ll be very interested in what you learn. And perhaps you can post the menus?! Good luck with all your work.

I am in Orlando too and I love this cloudy day today… really getting things done! I love those soups, too.

Not to keep beating a dead horse here Jenna, but I have Jessica Simpson’s performance on the View today on my DVR if you wanna come over and have a laugh and a glass of wine. It was so horrendous I am actually embarrassed for her. She is tone deaf I think.

I am going to bring you over to this side yet 🙂

Email me–sarahcox05@hotmail.com–when you have the time and stuff worked out! yay, I’m excited!

ps. I’m so bored at work today…no one wants to come get their body fat done when it’s raining I guess, ha…so that’s why I’ve commented like 900 time, lol. Reading blogs definetly help pass the time!

    Beth,

Yes, the yogurt is made from cow’s milk. Most are unless specified to be sheep’s milk. Cow’s milk is more common though!

Hey! That’s awesome that you’re doing a paper on Pacific NW wines. If you need any insight from someone who loves wine and who grew up in Oregon and now lives in Seattle, let me know! 😉

mmm. I love sweet wines, the sweeter the better…does this mean I am not a true wine appreciator? Probably, but I don’t care, sweet wines are cheaper anyway, and they get you just as drunk 🙂

    just kidding…kind of
