Rainy Day Pep Talk

Mornin’!

Still raining. 🙁 However, tis just sprinkling so I still might go for that run. We’ll see. Need to give myself a little pep talk first.

Had an amazing bowl of overnight oats for breakfast!

I’m not sure why this was SO amazingly good but it just was. I used 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup Oikos, 1 T barney butter, 1 banana, cinnamon and agave. It rocked.

Cute short & sweet post =) Sounds like a great day! I made my first bowl of overnight oats yesterday with almost the exact recipe as above (minus 1/4 cup yogurt), and I wasn’t a fan =/ Too rich on my empty stomach. I guess hot oats are more my style?

Thankfully it is nice here, today, after it pouuured all day yesterday — though I’m assuming if it’s still raining where you are then it’ll eventually make its way over to the east coast, haha. The overnight oats look so good — I still have yet to try them out.

I tried the overnight oats this morning and they were delicious! It’s freezing here in Minnesota today though, so I definitely missed the warmth of hot oats 🙂 But in a time crunch, they really are great. And they taste fantastic!

It might be cold here, but we do have some glorious sunshine- here’s hoping you get some soon there too! It’s incredible what it does for your mood.

I wanted to thank you for inspiring me in so many ways. I am addicted to checking your website a billion times a day to see if you have updated. LOL.. I also want to say thank you for introducing me to egg whites in oatmeal, agave and hummus. If it weren’t for you I would have never attempted any of the above said things.
I am currently trying to recover from an eating disorder and looking at your website has inspired me to strive for healthy rather then thin. So far it has been rough but, like anything; recovery will take time. I am looking forward to seeing your cookbook(is that what it is) because I love your recipes so far.
Anyway, I went for a run in the 15degree weather of Colorado and it was wonderful, I am sure you can hack a little rain! Your the pro here 😀

Hey Jenna, I’ve been following the blog for awhile now (love it, by the way, we both moved away from home at the same time – I just moved to the other coast of FL, not the other coast of the US). Anyways, I was wondering what you’d recommend for someone who was interested in getting started in yoga, but for someone (like a poor graduate student) who can’t afford a studio. Any ideas?

Those oats look so good- I’ve recently started eating overnight oats, mostly for the sake of saving myself a few dishes to wash (I don’t own a microwave) but I really love them! I don’t mind eating things cold 🙂 Good luck on your run! I always feel so tough after I run in not-so-great weather.
