Exercise/ Fitness/ Lunch

The Morning After

Okay now I’m feeling a little tired. But I’ve been productive! This morning I went to the gym and it was totally packed! I have never seen more than two other people working out in there when I’ve been there but today there were about 10 people exercising! I guess everyone wanted to burn off the weekend’s debauchery! Haha 😉 Here’s what I did:

15 minutes spinning

2 sets of seated hammer curls, 10 lbs each

2 sets of shoulder press, 10 lbs each

2 sets of triceps dips on bench

2 sets of chest press, 20 lbs

2 sets of reverse crunches

2 sets of bicycle crunches

2 sets of knee-ins on the bench

Overall it was a great recovery workout. I was sweaty and tired though and spinning just wasn’t as fun as it is when I get a good night’s sleep and don’t get wasted the day before. Meh. Afterwards I had to go get gas and run errands and I just couldn’t resist this:

There’s just something about a breakfast bagel that makes everything okay. This was magnificent. It was an egg, cheddar and turkey sausage on a honey wheat bagel. I used to live next door to Einsteins in college and would always go get a big breakfast bagel the morning after a long night out. It just tastes so right. I ate 75% of the actual bagel but all of the filling (does that make sense? haha). I instantly felt a million times better.

And then I went to Super Target to get some groceries because I’ve found Super Target to be the cheapest grocery source out there. It’s even cheaper than Publix! And I just looove it. I could spend hours and hours in Target and always find things I really don’t need. Today I was pretty good though. Here’s what I got:

I’m off to pass out by the pool.

I miss Einsteins so much! When I was a kid visiting the states this was my favorite place to go. Now that I live in NYC I can’t believe we don’t have one.

    I. LOVE. Super Target! My kitchen is bedecked with Archer Farms everything (they sell pricey yummies like Dr. Kracker spelt flatbread, Sabra hummus, and Williams-Sonoma pasta sauce under the house name). They even carry canned organic pumpkin and organic sweet potato puree now!

Oooh, speaking of healthy and yummy to-go breakfasts, on my way to school last week, I popped into Dunkin’ Donuts and had one of their flatbread breakfast sandwiches. Its whole wheat flatbread with reduced-fat cheese (mozzerella or cheddar, depending on the sandwich) and a egg white omlette-type thing with either spinach and turkey sausage crumbles or mixed veggies. Their nutrition info says they both have less than 300 cals, and they’re soooo yummy and quite filling! (Plus they’re avaliable all day!)

I think if I had a super target in my area, it would be dangerous! I already spend way too much money in there!

I swear I was thinking birthday cake, chips, chocolate chip cookies, hot dogs, more chips, etc. with every mile this morning. Sounds like others were doing the same!

Can I pass out by the pool with you?? Ha!

I agree, target is the cheapest for groceries. But I have a problem at stopping by their clothing section as well and then I end up spending way too much money.

Oh God, I had an Einsteins near my college too. I miss it! The only place that really sells bagels where I live now is Panera. Not quite the same. I love Super Target too! There was one where I used to live and I was always picking up new products from Archer Farms. I was always amazed at how good and affordable they were.

    Matt,

I lived in Tutweiler (sp?). It’s a veryyy loong story but I transferred there, stayed a semester and a half, then moved home and worked full time for a couple months before transferring to College of Charleston for my Junior and Senior years. I had an *interesting* college experience! Bama was great though and I wish it could have worked out better for me, but some things were out of my control at the time. I was an Alpha Chi Omega there!

Hey jenna!! I’m so glad you had a great time last night! I love college football!! So, since I’ve started law school I haven’t gone out at all..until Friday night. I had one of those nights like your picture on the dirt next to the car! haha Anyways, my question for Jenna and everyone, is what do you all eat when you get home from a night out when you drank one too many and also the next am? i ate oatmeal when I got home (don’t ask! haha) but made eggs the next morning and I don’t think it was the best choice bc I felt extremely ill. what does everyone else eat when you’ve had a little too much fun ? Thanks guys!! haha

Thank you for sharing your Whole Foods goodies- I love seeing what everyone else is getting.

I love Mel’s question. When I am having a long and crazy night, I try to make sure that I stay away from food altogether. If I were tohave a late nght snack, l feel guilty about it or not hungry in the morning. A.M. headaches and droopy eyes are much easier to handle when you can have a big and healthy breakfast that you are starving for. When I wake up I drink lots of water and make sure I have a healthy and substantial breakfast that involves a delicious form of bread (bagel) and of course protein and healthy fat. I like omelettes and bagels, bagels with PB, bagels with anything!
