Morning, friends! Happy Humpday!
I had a pretty hard time sleeping last night, my mind was just whirling about Murphy-Goode! I think I shall have to go to Total Wine today and buy a bottle to calm myself down. lol Last night Ryan told me he thinks I should start “training myself” to drink four glasses of wine every night. Ummmm four?! That’s an entire bottle, I told him. I love wine but I like to be able to remember how it tasted! Hahahaha!
I actually paced around the house for a little bit around 6:00 then decided that was just too early to wake up (did I really used to wake up at 3 am every day??!) so I went back to bed and fell asleep until 8. For breakfast, Ryan and I split a big green monster!
I originally made this to serve one but it ended up being so much that I poured it into two glasses and gave Ryan one. I used 2 pieces frozen cantaloupe, 1/2 banana, 1 cup vanilla soymilk, bout 3-4 cups spinach, 1 scoop Amazing Meal Pom Mango, blueberries, scoop of TJ’s peanut butter and ice. I had mine with a whole wheat blueberry banana muffin! :

July 8, 2009 at 10:15 amI love the way everything looks in the blender. How do you think the cantaloupe changed the consistency/flavor of the GM?

July 8, 2009 at 10:22 amYou must be soooo excited!!! So would you have to move out to CA if you got the position?
jenna
July 8, 2009 at 10:28 amMarathonVal,
Yep! For 6 months I would live in Healdsburg and blog on location 🙂
Megan,
It was a lot “icy” and had a fruity taste. I really liked it!

July 8, 2009 at 10:37 amCongrats on the good news. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t insanely jealous. Not only is it a fun gig but Northern California is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I have never been anywhere in the US where food is so appreciated and fresh.

July 8, 2009 at 10:47 amFour glasses?? Maybe in college (but at that point it would have been Franzia and NOT Murphy-Goode, unfortunately).

July 8, 2009 at 11:35 amHaha, boys, they can be silly–I mean, come on, do we really need to be trained to drink wine ;)?
Mmmm, GM + WW blueberry muffin sounds like a fabulous start to the day!

July 8, 2009 at 11:43 amHow exciting for you! Many congrats, hah you sure do love Green Monster smoothies!

July 8, 2009 at 11:44 amJust started reading your blog, and I think I’m going to have to try a Green Monster! How many calories do you think they have? Do you stay full for a while? I usually do protein powder, frozen fruit and milk, like the spinach idea!
jenna
July 8, 2009 at 3:07 pmMolly,
Well it depends. The one I make in the morning probably has around (give or take) 400 calories and 25 grams of protein. It keeps me full for about 3-4 hours!
Kristen
July 8, 2009 at 11:51 amHoorah for you! I live in Northern California and am sure you would love it here. If you haven’t seen the movie Bottle Shock yet, you should pick it up. It’s about how the wine industry took off in Nor Cal and how a little California winery beat out the top wineries in Paris in an international competition. A really cute movie and great “research” for your potential new career. 😉

July 8, 2009 at 11:55 amGood luck on your interview 🙂
I am rooting for you!

July 8, 2009 at 11:56 amfour glasses? haha drinking one whole bottle wont let you savor the flavors will it? those muffins look superb.

July 8, 2009 at 4:41 pmHi Jenna, NorCal (as we locals refer to it) is awesome. I’ve biked through Healdsburg–its beautiful, quiet, mostly flat, and warm during the day. At night, the valley cools down, so bring some light wraps or shawl. I think you’ll love it. Its not urban at all, and like many other places in NorCal there is a strong hippie vibe among the numerous vineyards and wineries. Mostly one lane roads (with exceptions) and great walking paths.
Good luck! I think you’d do a great job!
