Lunch

There She Goes

Hello everyone!

This morning I was almost running late for school because I was catching up on my blogs so I just quickly grabbed an apple, a handful of kashis and a string cheese to take to school. No picture, too rushed!!!

Today in school we played jeopardy to review for our test on Monday and I won with 2900 points!! I won this sweet aroma wheel you use when you taste wine:

I guess I get a little competitive πŸ˜‰

And for lunch I made a slammin’ sammie. SO good, I tell you! I used two slices of whole wheat bread, organic smoked turkey, 2 tbsp of sabra’s hummus, 2 bread and butter pickles and a light laughing cow. My goodness, it was tasty.

I also had a bite of oatmeal cookie!

This afternoon I’m going to read, rest and run! Haha, I’m a dork. I need to do some packing too so I can take another big load back to Tampa tomorrow morning. I’m definitely going to run but I can’t decide if it’ll be on the treadmill or if I’ll go downtown later and run around the lake. I don’t know if I want to deal with downtown traffic on Friday afternoon.

And I have my big special dinner tonight! We are going to Seasons 52 ! I am SO excited because I’ve always wanted to eat here. Here are some perks:

* Season’s 52 has one of the few Master Sommeliers working there

* They don’t allow butter on the restaurant premises

* Every single thing on the menu is under 500 calories

* Their desserts are all served in tiny shot glasses so there’s no “guilt” at ordered a monstrous size dessertΒ

They really appeal to a health conscious/athlete crowd, yet the menu is still fine dining. I have my heart set on that goat cheese ravioli for an appetizer but haven’t picked out my entree yet! I actually have one of the managers in my wine class right now and he was giving me hints on what to order. Lots of pictures will be taken for certain!

Have a lovely day–I’ll be back after dinner!

Oh wow that restaurant sounds absolutely amazing. Be sure to let us know what entree you end up getting. Anything with goat cheese is automatically a winner in my book.

And you’re definitely not a “dork” for relaxing — my Friday has been so busy so far and it’s not even over yet. Part of that is due to my own procrastination, but oh well. Have a great Friday!

Great job winning jeopardy! I think the prize should have been an automatic A on Monday’s test. But hey, sounds like it’s in the bag anyway. Enjoy dinner tonight. I’m the person who would use the shot glass size as an excuse to order every single dessert on the menu. πŸ˜‰

Seasons is the only good thing about Orlando πŸ˜‰ I miss it so when I go back up north. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, but far and away, the caramelized scallops are my favorite. Also, the stuffed mushroom appetizer is AMAZING (I always split it – too rich for one.) Have fun!!

do you ever miss your vegetarian days? you mentioned feeling different when you were eating only veggies and little dairy–do you ever think about going more in that direction again?

The sandwich looks awesome. I’m a huge fan of Sabra hummus. I make a sandwich like that but I usually put reduced fat feta instead of laughing cow. I gotta try using my laughing cow more often!

I LOVE Seasons 52! The mini desserts are my favorite part. Have fun πŸ™‚

    Rachel,

Well I don’t miss it because what is it besides a label? I can eat all the tofu and greens I want and reap the benefits without the label being tied to me because I know I couldn’t do it in the long run. The reasons why I couldn’t wear that label is because I’m a total and complete foodie. I love to travel and try EVERYTHING. Being a vegetarian is a superb thing for some people and for other people it just doesn’t fit. I don’t eat meat everyday and have found what works the best for me. If I feel like I eat too much meat one day I just don’t eat it the next day. Or I just don’t eat meat at all for a week. I never want to feel guilty for what I eat and so that’s why labels really don’t work for me! I have also found that for my body, I have a TON more energy if I up my protein. I’m very active and have to have continuous fuel!

Congrats on winning the aroma wheel and have fun at dinner tonight. That restaurant sounds great, what an awesome concept; it is so anti-American bread and butter, I love it!

And for the record I am NOT anti-America, but I think it’s clear our country has some eating/health issues.
