Lunch

Where Is My Brain?

Wow. I come asking your forgiveness because unintentionally I just broken food blogging rule number ONE. Get this: I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF MY LUNCH. I know, who am I?! I’ve only been taking pictures of every single meal for almost two years and today, randomly, I decide to just stuff my face and forget the camera??! To attempt to justify myself, for some reason I am not really feeling well right now…. progressively over the morning I have felt icky and I’m starting to freak out because I CANNOT get sick for Boston! To top it all off, my brain is total mush and I got lost going to the post office. Wow.

To try to redeem myself, I shall describe my lunch in acute detail. I made a sandwich on Ezekiel bread with roasted chicken breast, guacamole, shaved red onion and organic greens. I also had a plum on the side. It was delicious.

I have about a million things to do right now but I think I need to lay down for an hour before picking my mom up from the airport.

I DID, however, manage to take a picture of my chocolate bar 🙂

lol 🙂 when something has become a habit, sometimes you’re so used to not having to think about doing it, that you don’t pay attention and you end up not taking pictures of your food 😉

i always thought my english was okay but i’ve been finding myself laughing out loud over expressions as “shaved red onion”.

i just can’t imagine what the … it is 🙂

Gillette, the best an onion can get…? 🙂

I tried that chocolate bar because of you — so good! Thankfully, the only place I have found it is the expensive grocery store — the one I need to avoid for multiple reasons 🙂

    Hey Jenna,

I’ve been reading your blog now for a couple months, just hiding in the shadows. It great! But I have to come out of the darkness for chocolate 🙂
The lindt sea salt bar is an addiction of mine, I can’t get enough of those things and have to restrain myself everytime I pass one, well… not everytime 🙂 Nice to know that someone else loves them like I do too!

Anyways, just thought I’d say Hi and tell you that I really enjoy your blog, and I hope you don’t get sick for Boston!

Jenna: Get some rest and drink lots of water! Take it easy. And I agree with the person that mentioned a vacation. Even just a weekend away somewhere local, just to rest your head. We’d all understand if you took time off the blog! We’d cry, but we’d get over it knowing you’re doing something for YOU.

About the chocolate: for Canadian girls looking for it, Shoppers Drug Mart sells it. I have yet to try it because I am a milk chocolate girl who just cannot get used to dark chocolate.

Aw, it’s okay, it happens! That sandwich sounds yummy! I just wanted to point out that I went to Trader Joe’s this weekend, and got dark chocolate covered almonds, and the outside was coated in sea salt and sugar! The sea salt adds this weird punch to the chocolate…it’s amazing! I definitely thought of your “with a touch of sea salt” bars while eating some! 🙂

Jenna, thanks to you, I love that chocolate! The Borders in my area sells mainly Ghirardelli (lol- I checked after you said that’s where you got it), so I ended up just walking over to the Lindt store for it. Oh, it was amazing!

Don’t worry! You’ve had a lot going on lately – it’s only natural that you’re feeling flustered.

As for the chocolate, I employ the same habit as you every day. I little piece right after lunch is all I need… the sweet bitterness is a perfect way to end the meal, and you only need a touch to feel satisfied.
