Hi guys,
Thanks for letting me have the day to recoup. Honestly, its like when you forward to something for SO LONG and then it comes and passes and then you are back to the real world so fast…its all a little overwhelming actually. Murphy-Goode has been a HUGE part of my life for months and now that its over, I can’t help it—I feel a little bummed! Yesterday seems like forever ago when I was jetting away to different vineyards and speeding through Santa Monica traffic. Oh, hello reality.
The most productive thing I did today was run 2 miles on the treadmill (which felt awesome by the way) and I also went to Costco to grab some produce. I made a salad plate at my parent’s house for lunch which included canned boneless skinless salmon salad (mixed with a bit of canola oil mayo + dijon and topped with blue cheese) on spinach with blueberries, pickles and kashi crackers. A wee bit random but it worked!
After running some errands, I totally pulled a Polly and had a super ripe peach with almond butter! yummy!
The combo actually works quite nicely!
I had a glass of MG Chard with my mom and dad while I showed them all my pictures from my trip (still working on the movie!!) —

- a bit of minced garlic
- a can of diced tomatoes
- a glug of Pinot Grigio
And then I added:
- raw shrimp
- BIG handful feta cheese
- juice of 1 lemon
- pinch of hot pepper flakes
- freshly ground pepper
- freshly chopped basil
I served it all over whole wheat angel hair…not to toot my own horn or anything, but it totally rocked!

July 23, 2009 at 9:00 pmI can’t imagine how strange it must be to have gone from the craziness (and amazingness) of the last few days back to the real world! I’m glad you took the day to acclimate. 🙂
Your shrimp scampi looks amazing. I was thinking about making shrimp tacos for my parents and brother this weekend, but I may have to make this instead. 🙂

July 23, 2009 at 9:04 pmI can imagine that it would be difficult coming back to your normal environment after such a heady and dynamic trip. I know you were super pumped before going and while there. It’s a lot to recover from.
Dexter sounds as though he missed you. How sweet!
Hope you get a night of sweet sleep with no counting sheep. 😉

July 23, 2009 at 11:21 pmJenna,
You have been so open with the readers here about many aspects of your life.We all enjoy reading about you!But I was just thinking today I hope you know that you have the right to keep anything and everything in your world private at anytime,no matter how open you have been in the past.
Of course you know this ,but I just wanted to express the feeling I had today that sometimes I wonder if daily bloggers should try and take one day off a week just for themselves and keeping life to ones self.
For some reason this really struck me today,I just can’t imagine having so many strangers constantly asking did you get a job, etc.Everyone means well and wishes you the best but it’s your own private life in the end.Bless you 🙂
Cynthia (It all changes)
July 23, 2009 at 11:25 pmI totally understand the let down feeling. But I’m glad you got in a great two miles today.

July 24, 2009 at 7:00 amI can empathize with how you’re feeling. I went to work at Disney World a few years ago and I had built it up and up and up in my mind and the first day was fantastic, but then I mean, it becomes real life? It was sort of a ‘come down’ if you know what I mean. I had to just let myself breathe and feel a bit sad for a while and then pick myself up again.
I feel confident that the love affair between you and the California wineries isn’t over!!
What kind of treadmill do you have, Jenna?
Tammy (Defining Wellness)
July 24, 2009 at 7:58 amJenna, it looks like you had an amazing time! What an adventure? If you happen to see this measly comment amongst your others and your hundreds of emails, where do you get your little ice cream bowls? They are so cute!

July 24, 2009 at 8:23 amForgot to add that I am definitely going to try that shrimp scampi recipe. My bf loves seafood (that’s the only health food he’ll eat!) and I think he’d love that.

July 24, 2009 at 9:04 amWhen I use to act we called it post show depression. It’s that feeling after something big when you feel a little lost. Suddenly you have time to just do what you want to do without focusing on anything else. It’s such a weird time.

July 24, 2009 at 9:36 amI totally get what you mean about unwinding. Take your time getting settled. Can’t wait to hear about what exciting things may be in your future! 🙂

July 24, 2009 at 10:22 amIt’s always hard to get back to reality after such an awesome experience. I think it’s TOTALLY normal to feel a little bummed. But once you get back into your routine you’ll be right back to normal 🙂
That shrimp looks so yummy – I might just have to make that tonight!
