hello!
I am officially resurfacing. 🙂 What a fun weekend!

In the past 30 hours, we’ve wine tasted, we’ve sang, we’ve danced, we’ve eaten delicious food….and now Molly is back in Arizona and I am back in my quiet house….exhausted! Yesterday, after our huge brunch, we wine tasted around in Russian River Valley and had a very late “snack” of sandwiches. I had half of a turkey bacon sandwich on sourdough + a few bites of chocolate pie 😉

And then later last night, Rocky made his delicious bbq chicken (recipe going in my BOOK!) with twice baked potatoes and grilled broccolini.

There may have also been one or two s’mores consumed late night. 😉
This morning we hit up Red Rose Cafe for some brunch before I took Molly to the airport. I had an egg white omelet and a biscuit covered in honey!

Later in the day, I ate a glo bar and then just had an early light dinner of TJ’s tomato soup + quinoa bread and hummus.

I am BEAT!!!!! Have some work to get done though and some things to catch up on…..hope y’all have a great night!

March 28, 2010 at 6:15 pmMmmm, chicken looks good, and some of the winery pix look a bit like France. Amazing can be wearing summer dresses, still cold here. I sometimes just have TJ’s tomato soup, too, occasionally adding in garlic, basil, kalamata olives and cheese on top. Found a cassoulet recipe that is one of the oldest in France published as the tops in leading French guides–now on the hunt for the special beans. http://tinyurl.com/oe4ezq

March 28, 2010 at 6:17 pmCan I just say I am super excited about your book! Do you have a tentative release date yet? I’m in Australia, so I assume the release date here will be a bit later than the US.
Also, I really like the colour of your hair at the moment.

March 28, 2010 at 8:19 pmHey Jenna,
Here is the recipe for your book! Thought I’d post it here since people might be curious.
BBQ Chicken with Slaughter Sauce
Ingredients:
24 oz. of Del Monte Chili Sauce
2 tbsp of Worcestershire Sauce
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 cup of minced yellow onion
2 tbsp of minced garlic
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon Cumin spice
Distilled Vinegar to taste
Some mayonnaise
Some chickens
*optional* heat source – I recommend Louisiana style hot sauce by a company called Pain is Good. It adds texture, some smoke, and some heat.
Sautee onions in medium saucepan until somewhat brown. The onions integrate well into the sauce and should not add a texture component. (The end product should be smooth.)
Add the garlic. Then combine all ingredients except the mayonnaise and chicken in the saucepan. Simmer for about ten minutes until the sauce gets a rich thick texture.
While that’s going… “Mayonnaise the chicken.”
That means you rub mayonnaise all over the chicken.
Don’t get me wrong, I HAAAAAATE mayo, but it’s the only way to successfully allow the chicken to be moist without lighting it on fire.
Heat up the BBQ. Make sure it’s nice and hot.
For best flavor use hickory on the charcoal. Smoke makes this chicken really great.
Cook until it’s black in a few places. The photos that you see are slightly less cooked than it should be. Continually baste the chicken in the bomb sauce you made.
That’s it!
